Millionaires now asking to be taxed more.
« on: October 25, 2021, 09:50:14 AM »
How is this happening? Millionaires showing more awareness of gross inequality in our society than our government is:

On second thoughts, the government is quite aware of the inequality. Just indisposed to do anything about it.

It's only 30 of them. There are a lot more millionaires in the country than you might think. For example, if you add up all of my assets: property, pension, ISA, I just about creep over the line.

Being a single millionaire is no big deal nowadays. In London, many fairly ordinary houses cost over a million.
When conspiracy nuts start spouting their bollocks, the best answer is "That's what they want you to think".

Indeed so. But they are talking about the ones with above 3.6 million - 1% of the population.

Poor people don't buy things.
They create a black economy.
Economically trickle down eventually makes no sense.
I think the last time british society came to this realisation was early to mid nineties. The tories were caught lagging then.

I'm available for dinner and a show.

Unfortunately, I'm only a millionaire on paper. I can't sell my house because I need to live in it. Dinner and a show will have to wait.

It wasn't my point that millionaires shouldn't pay more tax. I was just saying that it is only a tiny minority of them arguing that they should.
