Mike Hodges dead

Fascinating career. Though if as the first line in the BBC report currently says he had directed 'Get Garter' I supect it would be a very different career.

I thought I'd let the BBC know, so it'll probably be fixed soon.

Disappointingly, IMDB doesn't have a page on Get Garter, so I have no idea what it's about.

A plot to assassinate POTUS39?
I once tried using "chicken" as a password, but was told it must contain a capital so I tried "chickenkiev"
On another occasion, I tried "beefstew", but was told it wasn't stroganoff.

It's gangster Michael Caine, circa 1971, returning to his hometown of Newcastle following the death of his brother, about which he has suspicions. Quite violent but well worth a watch.

There was a much later US remake with Stallone in the Michael Caine part - best avoided.

No, we know that it was the misprint of 'Get Garter' that jeremyp was wondering about.

Again that wouldn't be 'Get Garter'

"Get Garter is an entry-level guide to sideways Hat knitting.

Six different constructions are explained, supplemented with thorough explanations of the underlying structure and maths, empowering you to venture beyond the pattern and create your own unique Hats. "

They don’t seem to have made it into a film yet though. And if they do, Mike Hodges is sadly unavailable to direct.
