Found this short Radio 4 programme v.interesting...

Nature's secret, they believe, isn't the sound you can hear, it's the high frequencies you can't hear. Only in our interactions with natural materials are these particular frequencies produced, frequencies that have a direct effect on our bodies.

There a quite a lot of papers by Japanese scientists investigating brain effects of (inaudible) high frequency sounds.

Sound is a fascinating idea here. I think that we are all much more synaesthetic than we begin to consider
