Smart meters: Almost three million still not working
« on: December 04, 2023, 10:21:50 AM »
According to  Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) - joke writes itself:
"We understand a small proportion are suffering from technical issues and are working with Ofgem, energy suppliers and data experts to solve these issues."

It may be something that might  be described as a small proportion but it's a large fucking number, and downplaying that is the politics of weasly lying.

Interesting.

My cousin runs a gas engineering firm. Installing boilers, services, that sort of thing.

Although her firm is not directly involved with installing meters she has seen enough problems that customers are having, that she is advising others not to change to smart meters if they can avoid it for the time being.

For info: You do not have to accept a smart meter unless your current one is faulty or has reached the end of its certified life.

Before we work on Artificial Intelligence shouldn't we address the problem of natural stupidity.

DESNZ was set up earlier this year and had the luck to have Grant Shapps as minister till August when he got moved to Defence to be replaced by Claire Coutinho (nope, me neither).  I fear that the 'churn' will be used as an excuse for why this isn't being dealt with properly but then the churn is caused by this farcical govt, and if the ministers were capable shouldn't make a difference.
