At this sort of speed one of the worries about electric cars may be removed but whether they are the right solution to the problem is still a question, and until there is real impetus to creating the infrastructure that supports them fully, it might be moot anyway

The article says this:

120 miles is about half of what it needs to be and the car is a small sports car so the battery to achieve that is probably quite small too.

It sounds like it does represent an improvement but not the apparent five times better.
