We have created this new Board for threads that involve politics, legislation, social policy issues and major news stories as an alternative to the using the General Discussion board given the number of threads there. For example, in the coming months we'd imagine that there will be threads about UK devolution, the UK General Election due in 2015, issues around the EU membership - and of course there are always political matters happening just about everywhere.
There may be a degree of overlap with General Discussion at first but is is easy enough to move threads between the two boards, and if we find a separate board for Politics & Current Affairs doesn't really work then it is easily removed and any threads relocated elsewhere.
