The matches will need to be played next year and have yet to be organised, so, if anything it seems quite late.

If you want early, check out the draw for the 2027 Rugby World Cup finals which takes place at the beginning of 2026.

It was more a comment on how time flies.

Oh. Apologies. Actually, I can't really remember the last World Cup.

Final groups

Group A: Winner of Germany/Italy, Slovakia, NORTHERN IRELAND,Luxembourg
Group B: Switzerland, Sweden, Slovenia, Kosovo
Group C: Loser of Portugal/Denmark, Greece, SCOTLAND,Belarus
Group D: Winner of France/Croatia, Ukraine, Iceland, Azerbaijan
Group E: Winner of Spain/Netherlands, Turkey, Georgia, Bulgaria
Group F: Winner of Portugal/Denmark, Hungary, Republic of Ireland, Armenia
Group G: Loser of Spain/Netherlands, Poland, Finland, Lithuania, Malta
Group H: Austria, Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Cyprus, San Marino
Group I: Loser of Germany/Italy, Norway, Israel, Estonia, Moldova
Group J: Belgium, WALES, North Macedonia, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein
Group K: ENGLAND, Serbia, Albania, Latvia, Andorra
Group L: Loser of France/Croatia, Czech Republic, Montenegro, Faroe Islands, Gibraltar

I'd say England have a pretty easy looking run. More difficult for the other home nations.

My fault for not being clear.

The qualifications has already started some time ago in other confederation.

Given England were in the first pot, that's fair enough. From a Scottish point of view, that's not the worst draw we could have had.

That's actually really late for the rugby world cup, which suggests they are learning something - the draw for the 2023 version (held in Autumn 2023) took place in Dec 2020!!

That said the expansion to 24 teams shows they have no idea - the tournament should be reduced to just 16 teams.
