About the Forum Rules Board
« on: October 07, 2013, 08:14:46 AM »
As you will have realised a new category has been created for this Board, which is specifically about Forum Rules, and also the Board about Moderation and Admin issues so that these sit separately from the two established categories of General Category and Religion and Ethics Discussion.

New threads are permissible on this Board provided that they relate directly to the operation of the new Rules. Please note that obvious thread derails, such as any drifting away from matters pertaining to the Forum Rules to more general issues, or spurious threads are likely to be moderated/removed.

Given the nature of this Board there will be relatively few new threads so that those that are either locked, or where members are no longer posting in them, will remain. Therefore, and in order that this Board is focused on relevant Forum Rules issues, any 'old', inappropriate or locked threads will be periodically moved to the Mod Board so that this Board is not 'cluttered' by threads that are not currently relevant.

Update:
Please note that the Forum Rules posted here no longer include the Moderation element, which has now been moved to the Moderation & Admin Board elsewhere in this category. The reason for the split is that it became apparent that the original post, which combined both the Rules and Moderation aspects, was so large that any future editing of it would be impossible in that it became evident that even minor changes would result in a software error.

The only difference is the addition of a statement (agreed by the ex.Mods) in the first paragraph of the General Conduct section to confirm that these Rules will be subject to regular review (where adding this text triggered the error noted above).

Given the nature of this Board there will be few new threads so that those that are either locked or where members are no longer posting in them will remain there. Therefore, and in order that these this Board is focused on the Rules and any threads about relevant current issues, such threads will be periodically moved to the Mod Board so that this Board is not 'cluttered' by threads that are no longer relevant.
