Thank you, robinson. The itching has more or less stopped. It is a bit of a bind though having to take the pills five times a day! I'm an early bird, so I have, as today, taken the first one at 5:30, but yesterday evening it was quite difficult to remain awake until 9:30 p.m.! :)

I can imagine, think I'd have taken the pills a bit eariier, don't suppose it would hurt. But glad itching has stopped & hope it isn't too painful.
Remember having something to 'paint' on mine (which was front of waist), my mum had it too some years back, round waist, & had to apply something to it.

A man from the local Fire and Rescue people has just been to change the smoke alarms. I have them fitted as a free service because of my blindness  and age. They put new ones in about a year or so ago, but then about six weeks ago, they started cheeping. They fitted two- well I thought it was two - new ones, but these also started cheeping, so that's why they had to try again.
He pointed out that I had three - well, that was news to me - I thought I only had two! But no, there's one in the hall too. Ah, well, we live and learn! :)

I had my hand too near the mug and managed to scald it with boiling water intended for the mug. Held under running cold tap for an extended time and although it is sore to the touch, I think I have avoided a burn which would need attention. Stupid thing to do. I should know better by now!

Thank you, Floo. Actually, I thought it was probably better to be safe than sorry, so phoned a taxi and went to Lymington Hospital Small Injuries clinic where I was the only patient - well, it was still only about 8:20 a.m.! There is a dressing which is put on worse burns which contains some sort of Vaseline, but I  didn't need the dressing, so she took it apart and smeared the ointment over the back of my hand, and said to use E45 all the time to keep it moist. So it was sensible to get it checked. Back home by 9:0!

I have a small scar on my tummy where I managed to iron it while pregnant. Apparently it's not uncommon as mums to be forget how much space they take up.  :-[

Oh dear! Glad to hear the scar is small!

Whatever the nurse put on my hand this morning has worked wonders. I have also been putting E45 on all day. It was probably a good idea to go straight to the Clinic this morning.

On Saturday, I am flying to Jersey for the day to see my one remaining sibling. He was over here quite a few times before our brother died in July, so we thought it would be nice for me to go over there for a few hours. It is many years since last I visited.

:) I spent a pleasant day with my brother and sister-in-law yesterday. We did not go out because it rained, but we had a very delicious home-baked steak and kidney pie. I was offered a second helping and accepted - it was so delicious!!
Yes, my sister-in-law's mother was born in Guernssey but lived most of her life in Jersey - which I mention just in case anyone was, in fact, confused!! :)

Been stuck in the middle of an ongoing house-move for three months now - we had our offer accepted in early July - and we went round to measure up for stuff this weekend (what kind of person takes the curtains with them when they've already moved out and been living somewhere else for two years!?!?!?!) only to find that they've dug up the drains in the back garden...

I get that curtains can be expensive (these definitely aren't!), but the people we're buying from have not lived there for two years, they've been renting the place out. What do they need with the curtains - have they been sat in their new places for two years waiting for this to sell so they could finally have curtains again?
