My gran would have been 121 on April 30th.

How old are you? My gran would have only been 105 in September. :D

88.
Thou shalt not tell lies...
If 121 then your mother could only be 100 if born when gran 21.
Which makes your gran 33 when you were born so how old was your mother?

Uh?

The Terry Pratchett book I was referring to is,'A Slip of the Keyboard - Collected non-fiction'. Have you read it?

You made a statement that your gran would be 121 on the 30th September.
I asked how old YOU were and you said 88.
Which  means your gran is only 33 years older than you. So when you gran 33 you had to be born. So how old was your mother if you 88 and gran only 33 years older than you?
If your grandmother had to have you mother at approximately 16-17 years of age and your mother had to have you about the same age.

So it was not really something that happened in 1927.
So if you are 88 you were born in 1927. and your gran was born 1894.

So that was my point... If you are 88 how can your gran be just 33 when you were born?

Sassy, sorry to say, but when I said I am 88, I was joking!!  And you went to all that trouble to disabuse everyone.  A lot of what I say is tongue-in-cheek, you know.    :D :D

Gonnagle, if you are reading, this is for you! My reader is well through 'Raising Steam' and we are both enjoying it very much. It's a pity she can't do the accents for the voices which, if I was able to read it myself, I would automatically do!, but that doesn't detract from the story.

Didn't like Raising Steam that much. Too many things on one story and too many things reliant on a good knowledge of previous books for my liking

"Raising Steam" was Sir Terry Pratchett's last book! He knew, and had known for some time, that he was dying. The book was his final farewell to not only his fans in this world but to the Discworld as well

If uyou did not like it I think that you will find out that you are well and truly outnumbered by thosewho will treasure it for what is is as much as for what is in it!

Sir Terry - Discworld fans will hear your name on the wires for many generations to come! May you travel the Iron Girder for as long as you may wish. Blessed Be!

Yes, that is where I discovered he liked to class himself as a cheerful atheist, the book gives you a nice little insight into the great man himself.

Correct ma'am!

And, seeing as it is you, I should point out that the middle name is pornounced 'Heyzooss'.

The character's full title is Assassin and Personal Assistant to Lord Lucifer of Hades and he is a character from a manga comic called The Hell Rangers - do not try finding it anywhere as, as yet, it is still a work-in-progress, incomplete and unpublished!

Congrats on joining in on the name changing. I recall a little witch a while back having a negative comment or two about name changing. I wonder where he went?

How do you know how often Johnny changes his underwear?  :o

The mind boggles  :o

Now if I, or any Christian, had come up with that last post from Nathaniel Scrote, or what ever silly name he thinks is amusing, then I would have come in for all sorts of flack, rightly so.  But as is always the case on this forum, the atheists, hypocritically, say what they like and see no fault in it.  Perhaps one or other of the atheists here might condemn that last sentence?
