Floo, it would be good to reinstate this thread if only in remembrance of Keturah because I doubt very much she will be returning to this forum.

I love reading the diverse and sometimes informative posts written here, too.

Shame, but I hope and pray you are wrong, her sense of humour is sorely missed.

Absolutely, Gonners. This place gets far too serious at times. Keturah's interactions were like a breath of fresh air.

Maybe we should start a new thread entitled "Judder Man v The Mods".

We've just got the official blind club T shirt back from the printers.
The front gives the name of the club (which I helped set up 25 years ago)
The back has
"May contain nuts".

"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

Clearly a testament to accuracy Jim (in your case anyway)  :) :) :)

Guilty as charged!
We set the club up as a group run by visually impaired folk, for visually impaired folk.
The idea was to show those who were losing their sight later in life (as the majority of blind people do) that we can be criminally insane and get away with it.
I have a poster of one of the members....an eighty three year old who had lost her sight through a stroke at the age of eighty.
She is pictured wearing a complete chicken outfit, using a long cane, as she walked down the street in her own village raising money for sight savers international.
I was walking beside her, long cane in hand, wearing full hihghland dress plus a rather nifty seeyoujimmy hat.
You get the picture?

I can imagine it - but when do we get to see it for ourselves?

Well - we're getting a booklet printed with some of the images on it, mainly to distribute to local health care centres, etc, with details of our activities (well, the ones we can safely print, anyway).
The aforsaid poster will be the front cover.

If it is available on-line (as a PDF) perhaps you could post a link?

That's a thought....I'll get someone who knows how to set up a website without throwing a brick at the computer, to look into it.

I do not, as you so delightfully put it, suckhole the Mods.

I do however understand that being a mod is difficult enough at the best of times and having someone with a permanent burr under their saddle just because a mate of his got banned is pathetic.

He's banned - get over it and start over.

Good story, Floo! :)

I saw this as I was about to go in search of the old thread, because I have had an excellent day today. I have been organising a get-together for about 16 of old friends from school. today was the day and we met at a hotel near Waterloo. Buffet lunch in an area of the bar reserved for us. Two were unable to comebut a great time was had by all. We are all dynamic, active, lively women!! :D
