I have just been told the very first woman Bishop in the Church in Wales has been appointed as Bishop of St Davids.

Well done them.

Just had an e-mail from my Baby Sister who is on a 5* cruise in the Med with her husband, (sooner her than me!).
Why, what's wrong with her husband? ???

I was in Egypt in February, and accidentally left a notebook in my hotel room in Cairo. No really important stuff there, just a few obs I'd made at various places. The hotel found it....and,eight months later, it arrived via the postie this morning. Better late than never!

Good stuff, Jim..... you must be pleased! :)

Just had an e-mail from my Baby Sister who is on a 5* cruise in the Med with her husband, (sooner her than me!). They are having a good time, and graciously accepted the Captain's invitation to join him at his table. ;D

My daughter and her family are on holiday in Dubai, and she has just emailed me to say my wee granddaughter, who is 2yrs 9mths, is swimming on her own! :)

Hurrah!! She is such a determined wee soul, haha...

Yesterday I was walking to town and although I was using the (white) walking stick for safety, I was not having to use it for support and was able to walk briskly. A man passed me and said,'Goodness, you walk fast!'
Well that really made my day! :)

I've been doing all the exercises and have achieved a level of strength which almost entirely compensates for the totally clapped-out hip joint.  It just goes to show that the GP was right when he said that if I worked at it, I would not need a hip op.

Good progress, Susan, but does that mean you will not be able to dance to Hip Op music?

Does anyone post on any over 50s forums? I have tried a few but they seem to be infested by dirty old men trying to shock! :o

They sound like, "Grab a granny", forums.

Heart monitor, worn a few weeks ago for 24 hours, shows heart decides to take a rest every now and again at night!  Seeing cardiologist next and very likely will have to have a pacemaker.

I was gobsmacked yesterday when talking to a neighbour who mentioned she cleans her dog's teeth every night before it goes to bed. I realised the creature is more than pampered, but I have never in my life heard of dogs having their teeth cleaned! ::)

Does anyone on this forum clean their dogs teeth?

I think it is quite common - I have certainly heard of it before. (Non dog owner here)

Was this the dog that gave you flowers or something? If it kissed you it would at least have had a fresh tang to its breath.  ;D

I don't know what it is about Wales, but lorries and buses frequently crash into railway bridges because the drivers haven't taken into account the height restrictions!

IIRC, a kilometre there is the point at which you give up chasing a sheep as you will be too knackered to do anything even if you do manage to catch it.

today I bought a pair of No. 8 knitting needles and a large ball of chunky wool. I'm going to do some knitting, purely as an activity, not, of course, to produce something! I shall carryon until I've dropped all the stitches or run out of wool. Then I think I'll pull it all back and start again!! :)

Good for them. :)

Excellent news, floo, thanks.

What I didn't like, though, was this bit:

One gay contributor said the church had once felt a "painful place"

I would be most unhappy with a church that felt painful places, particularly if one painful place was mine!  What an imposition.

--------------

SusanD, knitting is extremely therapeutic.  I went through quite a long phase of knitting some years ago and produced some weird and wonderful things.  It didn't last, I'm now left with bags of yarn and endless needles and patterns.  Still, may take it up again one day, who knows.  It was good for me while it lasted.
