Every now and again, I turn on the oven in order to put, say, a potato in to bake, go on the computer and then, after half-an-hour, remember that I have forgotten to put the potato in. this I did just now too.
Very annoying!!  :D

The best way is to do both - in the microwave for 10 minutes to cook inside then into a hot oven to go crispy.

I have no other purpose for a microwave. Slow baked in the oven also always tastes better.

This afternoon my super next-door neighbour very kindly came in to help me put re-cycle bags, plus tied on with string, over the back and seat of a swivel chair and then put it out on the front grass for collection and disposal by the Council tomorrow morning. It wasn't expensive and is still comfortable to sit in, but it is too large and too heavy. The (imitation!) leather has torn in places and although it was just right for sitting in when I first got the computer, I now need, and have bought, a neater swivel chair with a straighter, firmer back.

It looks quite odd, sitting out there!!   :)

My husband, who eats baked potatoes, would object if they were crispy, he likes the way I do them.
Or that's what he tells you!  ;)

Good for him, I like people who tell it like it is. At least you know where you are with them.

You haven't met my husband, he always tells the truth, if he doesn't like something I soon know about it! He has never been in the business of sparing someone's feelings, he tells it like it is.
Maybe he just says that - to spare your feelings!  :-\

That is hilarious as you would know if you met him. ;D As I said he tells it like it is, which doesn't always make him popular. He tells me if he doesn't like the food he is eating. Our tastes are different so he has the food he likes and I have what I like, no problem.

I was out at exactly the same time - once the clouds parted it was beautiful.

It was gorgeous last night driving home, the clouds only added to the beauty of it. Thick fog has come down here now, can’t see across the road. Don’t think it’s going to burn off either.

It is too cloudy to see the moon at present, but no doubt the end timers will be over the moon if it is red. ;D
We had a red sun a couple of months back and seem to have come through it unscathed. These end timers need a new strategy.

Yesterday at tap I was able to hop on my left foot a bit! There are of course quite a few steps where hopping is necessary.:)
Before the accident, even though the hip was very dodgy, it wwas no bother, but it has taken me all this time to get to the stage where my left hip and leg muscles are strong enough to include hops, in spite of the hip.
Example: tap spring, tap spring , tap spring shuffle hop; repeat four times; quite fast!

If my parents had lived it would have been their 70th wedding anniversary today.

Bless them. How lovely to get married at Christmas! Mine married as early as possible in the new year (59 years next month - I think, I'm not good with dates), they tell me it was still very festive. Can't beat Christmas though.

Every Friday I get an e-mail from Amazon with suggestions as to what to ask Alexa to do. One of today's was 'Alexa, start 7-minute work-out!!' It started with 'jumping jacks, and then a little ping after about a minute, but I'll have a proper try at it later.

Hospital check-up yesterday. Tumour has shrunk a bit more. Next apt in six months, then probably discharge and keep taking the pills! :)

Annual lunch for my tap group today. It was a most enjoyable few hours.

Yesterday afternoon I had a headache, after a silent migraine - the jazzy eye thing. I never get headaches. Paracetamol didn't work. So, as I didn't feel right, I phone 111 to ask whether it could be that flu. A nurse phoned me back, but concluded a 999 call was required. Sigh!!!
BP up to 208/95 I was trundled off to A&E but it was fairly quiet and I was seen quickly. It was most likely a small bleed in the brain, but I gradually improved and came home.  They are so good there, aren't they? Blood tests, ECG, doing all the checks, no feeling of being rushed or anything. I am back to normal this morning, but I think I might decide that my usual walk might not be the best idea!

The doctor said I could either go to a Stroke Clinic or see GP, so I will see GP on Monday, just to check up on medication etc.

You have my very best wishes, SD.

I, too, have silent migraines. There was a short period last summer when I was having scotomas almost every day - in addition to which I was having dizzy spells. Naturally (after consulting Dr Internet) I was convinced I had Meniere's disease, I've had tinnitus for years.

The GP (a trainee - standing in for my own GP) put me on an antihistimine which cleared up the dizziness. Since then I have had very few episodes of migraine. She did not think I had Meniere's  but was having some inner ear problems which she thought the antihistine would clear up. She was probably right.

Thank you for your post, HH. Actually, since my heart surgery four years ago, I did not have any of those silent migraines - I did not know they were called scotomas - until last year. I always rather assumed they were to do with blood pressure, but who knows?!!  The internet doctor knows far too much, I think!

It can be helpful though. I have had all kinds of odd symptoms for years - many of which were dismissed as ‘stress’. I had really had enough a few years ago and did a bit of detective work on google and discovered that the likely root of my problems - from pains in my feet to migraine - was my spine being thrown out of line by my having hypermobility. A trip to the GP followed by a consultation with a physio confirmed just that. Now I can manage the situation and am reasonably pain free thanks to exercise, nurofen and massage.
