Yes it is, I wondered about him yesterday.

Back to lizards, haven't seen a native one for many years - since I was a child.

About time too!
I was up at 5.20 am and there was no news then.

Well of course I hope all goes well & she produces a healthy child fairly soon.

They need a job
Quite sufficient to see and hear about it on TV.
I'm expecting the usual anti-monarchist flack but personally, I'm delighted. Knew she would pop today! Good news about her sister being pregnant too.

Next one - Zara Phillips's baby.

Nice for the Queen to have two great grandchildren this year.

"Seksen bir" is Turkish for "Eighty-one", and English for "a great night out".

I'd just like to mention that I am a bit sad that new posts are so dominated by political views. I suppose it is because we have sort of run out of new opinions on any religious or philosophical discussions, but personally, I don't mind going over them again! :)

Why? It's just another area of discussion. IF you don't want to take part you don't have to.

Well, one of the reasons is that my hobbies/activities are so limited that if there is not so much of one of the things I can do, and enjoy doing, then that is a pity for me personally.  And that is no-one's problem but my ownand I deal with it sensibly and practically!!

I suppose the 'Searching for God' is a good example!! I've long since forgotten  the first few pages
, but in any case the same ideas come up in different forms and are always interesting to talk about from perhaps a slightly different angle! It Is, as I have mentioned occasionally, like an old group of friends who have met for years just to discuss and, although we know each others' views, the next meeting is always something to look forward to. In the end, the original group I belonged to here ceased, not because any of us had become fed up with it, but simply because circumstances had changed. One couple I bump into regularly in town are now 92 and 88 and there is still the same instant ease of communication.

We were driving round Peterborough, and I noticed some road signs saying, 'do not use satnav'.   I think it's because there are lots of new roads, and maybe people are going up cul de sacs, and into ditches.   Strange to see them.

Is it April fools day?

https://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/permission-nappy-change-consent-sexuality-expert-deanne-carson-a8345581.html

This sexuality expert is suggesting parents ask their babies consent before changing their nappies! :o

A not very interesting story on the face of it, but this take on it is, I think. Because babies can’t consent but very often don’t fancy being changed, so asking for ‘consent’ and then changing them anyway teaches them what, exactly?

I attended the funeral of a friend yesterday. Very sad.....but two of the songs played were Matt Munro songs. I had forgotten what a fine vocalist he was.

The last song "Softly as I Leave you" left not a dry eye in the crematorium.

Are you a Yanny or a Laurel person?  When I heard the sound on television I heard Yanny very distinctly.  When I listened to it from the following site through earphones I heard Laurel.

Does anyone else think that Dr Hardy in 'Casualty' is an obnoxious, jumped-up little shit?

I've missed the last two episodes. I thought he was OK but when he was 'acting clinical lead' he was out of his depth and alienated people. I'll give you a more informed opinion when (if) I catch up.

Where's Little Roses? She likes Casualty.

Thanks NS. Hope LR is alright, if she looks in I wish her all the best.

Everything happens when I'm away!

This afternoon a greenfinch flew though my open French doors and sat on one of the sofas which was unoccupied. Really beautiful. It must have been scared so I opened the doors wide, stood behind it and eventually it flew out.

StevenH I watched Casualty last night & previous episode. No, can't say I found Ethan to be an 'obnoxious, jumped-up little shit', he seemed same as always to me. He was out of his depth when acting clinical lead which led to staff relation problems, wasn't ready for that responsibility . Maybe I missed something that you saw, I was half asleep last night and haven't long been up this morning!
