I gave up trying to work out who was who ages ago.
Maybe I'll carry on changing it, then!
I assume that most people know who I am from my avatar, a clock-face, which appears alongside every post, but that wouldn't work for you or Anchorman, I suppose.

You are in danger of making Steve sound like a pet Labrador.

I rarely see avatars as I mostly post on phone where it doesn't show. Your name choices are consistent. Your posting style is easy to see, and other than Vlad  who was absent for a long time, no one else regular changes their name.

Just got back from church - in my front room, live-streamed on Facebook. My communion elements were home-made, wholemeal bread and damson wine.

What a lovely thing to do Hercules (Hercules loved his mum and his father was a force to reckoned with).

'Great is thy faithfulness' being sung on TV from St David's Cathedral on TV,I don't usually bother with such things but it followed Peston. They're in good voice preumably not today, must have been recorded. Now talking about Moses.

A pit bull terrier would be nearer the mark. ;D

That was surprisingly witty.

Why? Everyone who actually knows me will attest to my sense of humour, especially where making jokes about myself are concerned .

How very dare you!
No, but the original H G-T, a character in 'The Goon Show', was supposed to be, although, it being the 50s, it was hinted at rather than openly stated, and was a source of ribaldry.
hahaha 😂
That's why I asked , apparently it wasn't noticed by the BBC at the time which made it even more amusing .

I heard about our European Starlings learning to speak last year apparently they learn to speak in a similar way to Parrots, you could have knocked me Down with a Feather, sorry about that, well anyway I thought I'd enter 'talking' Starlings into the YouTube browser today and what a revelation, it's worth a look, it's certainly surprising.

Quite a few bird species can be taught to speak to a greater or lesser degree. Before parrots or budgies were common in this country, people used to train tame jackdaws and magpies to speak.

Yes it's interesting and I suppose there must be the usual survival factor involved somewhere with this ability.

I assume the survival factor is the ability to imitate the sound of something that will scare off predators - imitating a dog bark, for instance, would scare off a cat.

Not a good example. I had a cat with which no dog on Earth would have lasted five minutes. The occasion when I saw a terrified fox slinking away from her is etched in my memory.

Do others face time? I have been forced into it by my kids, as they want to see my husband and I in person as they can't visit us at present. I have to use my tablet, not something of which I am fond, much preferring my laptop. I keep screwing up, but hopefully by the end of the week I might have got better at it.

FaceTime is an Apple product and is designed for Apple equipment - iPhone, iPad etc.  It provides a service similar to Skype but in many people's experience it is much better than Skype. It is certainly my preferred communication app. You should thank your "kids" for trying to encourage you to use something which is excellent and which doesn't cost you a penny.

I was chatting on the phone a few minutes ago to my daughter's mother-in-law who lives in Wrexham with her husband. She said that the little girl who was stabbed to death on Sunday in a park in Bolton by a woman, was the granddaughter of their next door neighbours! They knew the child, who was a lovely little girl, and can only imagine what her grandparents are going through.

I saw a news item about some women who had been spotted searching through people's paper recycling bags and removing items. It was presumed they were looking for names and addresses and maybe other personal items like bank statements! I always remove our names and addresses from anything I put in the recycling bag. I shred any personal documents, which are no longer required.

Bunked off cyberchurch, and went for a 30-mile, socially-distasnced bike ride through Gaddesden Row, Water End, Potten End, Berkhamsted, Wigginton, and Aldbury.

Our youngest grandchild is 12 today, it doesn't seem five minutes since she was born, the years go by so quickly.
