I think it's a bit over the top.

Apparently there a road sign in France pointing in the same direction to:

The Crematorium and Restaurant La Flambé

Well it made me giggle.

Just watched Corronation Street with my mum and it was proceeded with "contains scenes some viewers may find distressing". Can I suggest that anyone who finds anything in Corronation Street distressing, then they shouldn't be watching television at all.

Our next door neighbour fixed our shed door yesterday as it was coming off its hinges and replaced them. Today he removed some stakes and trellis near the lounge patio door, which had been irritating us for a long time, it looks so much better now. Naturally we paid him for the doing the work for us. Our neighbour has been glad to have jobs to do whilst working from home, he has constructed some lovely bird tables for people. He goes back to work on Monday a job that also involves construction.

This morning I have been laminating some old photographs in order to preserve them. There is one which is well over 100 years old of my three great aunts on my father's side of the family. There is another of me with my parents when I was about a year old, and the only one I have of me in my nurses uniform taken in 1968.

The url for this forum website says at the beginning 'not secure'. Strange, because it never used to say so. Does anyone else see this on the url for this site?

It's pretty much always been that way. It depends on how you login as to whether you get the message. You will notice some urls are http and some are https - the https are the secure ones. We could move the site to https but since we have no financial aspects and it would increase costs and may lead to loss of data we have not done so. I would emphasise though, as I have covered before,  that you shouldn't use a password on here that you use on any site where you need things to remain secure.

Oh, how funny, I can't believe I haven't noticed it before! Yes, that's right, when I clicked on the 'not secure' it warned of not using passwords that could link to sites you may want to keep secure.

Has anyone any idea of how I can best dispose of a whole jar of runny honey? I did not know of course that it was runny honey until I opened it. I had clearly typed 'set honey' on the shopping list (and I am of course very grateful to the lady who does my shopping) but I simply cannot cope with runny honey.

The honey will often crystallise when the temperature is lowered.  You try puting it in the fridge or freezer for a short time and see what happens.

Bars and restaurants reopen here in Finland today. Just having my first pint on the terrace, and although I haven't smoked for ages, thought I'd have a fag as well. Bliss!

Surely if you haven't smoked for ages it would have been wise to give up altogether, seeing how much harm smoking can do to your health?

Yeah, but it's only the one. Fortunately I've always been able to stop when I want to, in the words of Tommy Cooper, just like that that!😁

I quit smoking years ago, but I have to admit, there's nothing like it when having a well earned drink.

I am so glad my husband and I have never smoked nor do our children. No one has ever been permitted to smoke in our home.

Apparently some cretins are still tombstoning in spite of three people being seriously hurt the other day. >:(

I well remember a couple of my uncles tombstoning when I was 2 years old, not that it was called that in those far off days. They were supposed to be babysitting me, but as that was such a boring activity they decided to take me with them when they went diving off, Albecq a very dangerous cliff in Guernsey. They sat me at the top off the cliff telling me not to move until they got back from their dive. Fortunately for me I was obedient, or I would have ended up in the sea too. :o

A photo of the cliff.

If I don't recognise the number, I don't answer the phone. Many phone calls I get which I believe to be scams have numbers which indicate an origin in Africa or SE Asia. None of the callers leave a recorded message.

Unfortunately of course, I cannot see anything on the phone window.

If people are wondering why SteveH hasn't posted since June 1st, I have heard that his computer has packed up and he can't get it fixed at present.
