I've heard of adding a pinch of salt to coffee, but not to tea. What's she want to get rid of the bitterness for? Tea is supposed to be bitter!
I approve of her comment that mugs should be short and fat, to conserve heat, though: the ideal shape is a square cylinder, as tall as it is wide.

This is a stunning column from Gregg Wallace. You could have locked our finest satirists in a room under instructions to come up with the most cutting column for weeks, while threatening to bum torture and kill their families, and they would not have come close. (Possibly because that is an entirely evil and, in terms of management style, counterproductive way to behave)

The delights of fitting a new toilet seat. There must be easier ways than the method in the diagram. Not helped by the 'Tip': The factory has been debugged , no adjustment is required under normal conditions.

(I think 'the factory has been debugged' = factory tested)
