Hi Trent,

Quote
Having read this thead can I just offer this observation:

I think Bashful is morphing into Ralph2. (although he isn't yet quite as verbose)

Actually I think of him more as Vlad's even more charmless kid brother, but now you come to mention it...

Good day, bluehillside, as you are currently known.  I appreciate that you are upset at what I say, but you simply must learn to face the truth of matters, and accept that you are wrong, which is true about most of your posts.

Not upset in the slightest. At most just a bit disappointed to see your antics here - evasion, insult, false accusation etc - but your irrelevance to the discussions doesn't make you important enough to be upset by.

I may well be wrong about any manner of things. Unfortunately for you until and unless you finally attempt at least an argument to show that to be the case we'll have on the table only your un-argued, un-evidenced and largely incoherent claims to that effect.

Apart from that though...

Don't get so upset!  I nearly got upset the other day when someone said I couldn't spell, "armageddon."   But it's not the end of the world!    :)

Again, no-one is "upset". To upset me you'd need to be a poster capable of expressing an idea worthy of respect. Your relentless juvenilia doesn't even come close.

Sassy,

Quote
here is absolutely nothing incoherent and no poor reasoning in my post.

I'm sure that you think so. I gave you the opportunity to share just one of your arguments so that I could show you to be wrong about that, but you seem to have declined.

Oh well.

Your post states differently.

Sassy,

Quote
Not being evasive are you? ;D

As I asked in my last post... What is the question you were badgering BA to answer?

No, I'm not being evasive at all - you're confusing "evasive" with "ignoring". Evasion entails using one of various tactics to appear to answer the question while never actually addressing it at all - as with my 4454 and BA's 4455 in reply.

Ignoring someone on the other hand is a different matter - in this case because I find your reasoning to be so poor or incoherent (or both) as to make engaging with it impossible, so I don't try. If you really think otherwise though repeat any one of the arguments you've attempted here and I'll explain to you where you've gone wrong.

I asked you what the question not questions as your post stated the singular not the plural.

You had stated:-

BA,

Quote
Agreed: it's the only way I can think of to shake you off!

Alternatively you could try answering a question rather than wrongly accusing others of evasion.[/b][/color]

Quote
How can you ask BA to answer a question if you have no specific question in mind?
Quote
Since it is clear from your answer you knew I was asking you to answer the question you claimed BA was evading answering.

Ah, to be six years old again and attempting insults and empty threats like that. Do you think Jesus would be proud of you?

Nothing and no one can insult you better than your own reasoning and lack of intellectual capacity to see what is in front of you. Nor the fact you thought you could riddle out of  the fact you could not even produce ONE Question that BA failed to answer.

All you have is the false jibes and ridicule of myself made by others to support you. It falls away when I show you asked for an answer to ONE Question and when asked you could not even supply that one question having made out later there were many of those questions.

Should be Bullhillside it makes more sense when it comes to taking part and accusations from yourself.

You think these threads are for scoring points. For insulting and making fun of others... The insult of a six year old would be more promising that the results of an adult whose answer is as follows:-

Quote
Ah, to be six years old again and attempting insults and empty threats like that. Do you think Jesus would be proud of you?

As I said no one needs to insult you your own answers do it for you. As for Jesus he would be proud of me. Because I stood up to a bully who when he cannot answer the questions put to him about what he wrote... he stoops to insult and sarcasm. Now that is not a mature way to respond it.

As I said your butt is exposed.

The tone of petty digs and snipes at each other on this forum is certainly getting worse. I don't post often because of it and because every thread ends up with it and every question gets repsonded to by others making such digs. Everyone should, I think, just take a bit of a step back, take a deep breath and decide whether there is any value or point in doing this.

Respect is something which has to be earned!

We are not talking about respecting of 'persons'. We are talking about the respect of treating others as you want to be treated on a forum. When you learn the difference let us know.
Sarcasm and personal attack because you do not have the knowledge to answer is not acceptable.
You are just as guilty of ridiculing and attacking Christians because of the lack of ability to separate their beliefs from your own warped thought process of what true Christianity is.
You do so from your own personal and unsustainable beliefs of what being  a Christian means.

Respect on a forum in the sense you have used cannot be done. We do not know each other personally. We sometimes have to be humble enough to just admit when we are not able to understand the teachings about Christianity. It is more acceptable and will earn respect instead of throwing sarcastic insults and replies aimed at the poster.

Which you could try...

And we can all post politely. Your lack of ability to understand has nothing to do with the posts of others. You can start by being sincere and asking someone to pm you with an explanation if you are not getting what they say. When that happens.

It’s curious that such a high incidence of the ostensibly (big C) Christians – yourself, BA, Vlad, TW etc – seem to be able to respond to the arguments and reasoning that are put to them largely or wholly only with juvenilia, insult, contempt etc without ever once attempting to address the arguments and reasoning in response. It seems to be a sort of arrested development phenomenon whereby the belief is so precious, so cherished that the only way to respond to criticism of it is to lash out.

Asking someone else to apologise for being on the wrong end of your green-inked bile is irony of a stellar level, but there you go.

Look, the fact is that I find your beliefs to be so incoherently expressed as to be impossible to address, and your reasoning such as it is to be barmier than a box of frogs so I tend just to ignore you – much as I did that chap in Oxford Street who used to carry a sandwich board warning about eating too much fish or some such.

It really is up to you. If you genuinely think you have a point to make about the subject at hand then try writing it clearly and succinctly, then read it again before posting to check that it could make sense to someone else and not just in your head.

Then read it again before posting and take out the bile, petty insult etc until you finally have an argument that’s relevant and comprehensible.

Do that, and I’ll gladly reply. Carry on as you are though, and you just condemn yourself to sandwich board status again.

As I said to you before, it’s up to you.

Vlad the Uncomprehending,

Quote
Alas ...a phrase which is used by millions to justify treating people like shit.

You never have understood the difference between a person and a belief have you?

People should be treated with respect, their beliefs should not be.

The proper way to treat beliefs is twofold: if they're private beliefs, then indifference; if on the other hand the holder of them attempts to claim for them special privilege, protection from enquiry etc in the public square then damn right they should not be afforded the respect they demand.

Beliefs and ideas stand or fall on their merits, not on how much the people with them care about them.

Sassy, your last couple of posts - though seeming to appeal for respect - do contain a number of digs and sarcastic remarks too. You have posted as if it is only others who are sarcastic and aim digs at you, yet your posts include such comments too. The only way for peace to break out is for everyone to cut out the digs and not try to say it is someone else doing it, or 'you started it' such as was posted on another thread. Respect should be the default position in life, including forums. I know this 'appeal' won't have a lasting effect if any but think it musty be worth a try, surely.

Sassy,

Started reading but you never listen and take no notice. Your sarcasm and insult is noted now let the adults get back to discussions.

The breathtaking irony of the last seven words is noted.

Ah well, again I tried. As with TW, look after yourself and wrap up warm this winter won't you. If your private beliefs, whatever they are, comfort you then all well and good - just don't expect anyone else to agree with them is all until you can finally express them in comprehensible and logically coherent terms.

I wish you well.

Your patience and kindness in the face of such rudeness is commendable, Blue. I'm afraid mine ran out long ago.

There is absolutely no way to get brains addled by religious rot to think sensibly about the subject, even though they may be quite normal in other areas.

When it comes to their religion, they are nothing more than programmed robots.
