Fallacy Boy,

Have I missed your apology to Gordon for ascribing to him a quote he didn't say?

Why do you think you lie so much?

I can't believe you are being so simplistic about this.

I was talking to someone whose views are frighteningly simplistic.

Do you agree with him?

I'd say he's simplistic and frightening. What atrocity I wonder wouldn't he justify if he really though "God" wanted it?

I'm always touched when antitheists go on about how deluded and incompetent the brain is at reality but never extend this to themselves.

Some of the things my brain has convinced me were true in the past, I now realise were probably wishful thinking.

1: religionethics must be a byword for disregard of the rules of logic.
2: Most of the posters on it are not Christian.
Time for you to be good on your word and leave then?

Atrocities that someone who thinks morality is just 'behaviours'' with a fancy label could, perhaps?

Well at least some "antitheists" tend to favour things like rationality, critical thinking, scepticism and logic and so forth ... .

Been a while since you tried the argumentum ad consequentiam fallacy. Always fun to see it dusted off and tried again by the logically challenged.

Oh, and the point by the way was that the certainty borne of religious belief can override our innate humanity. Look at some of AB’s comments here if you don’t believe me. Convince yourself that “God” wants something, and anything goes – after all, if you kill a few babies along the way that just means they’ll get to meet their maker that much sooner right?

PS I see that, as ever, I’ve corrected you several times today alone and that you’ve just ignored the corrections. Why is that?

PPS How’s that apology to Gordon coming for doctoring a quote and pretending he said it?

So to you it is logical that all your life you get the goodies while other people (believers
and non believers) don't. Including those who pray.

Explain this please.
As I said previously, I believe God answers all sincere prayers made in faith.

Just a belief though.  There's no actual evidence to suggest that this is true.

Things happen in this world which God does not want.  Jesus did not want to have to suffer torture and death, but He suffered to enable us to be delivered from evil.

Remind me Alan: exactly what use is this god of yours supposed to be, again?

Clearly he needn't have bothered.

So why don't you start praying for fatalities amongst the boat migrants in the Med to be reduced, or eliminated. We can all watch the figures, and if they start to reduce from the day you start praying for them then we'd have some hard evidence to base a statistical analysis on, rather than just your assertions.
I can't do it all on my own.  The reason I am posting here is to share in the gift of faith and the power of prayer.  If more people were to pray in faith this would be a better world.  And we could all look forward to meeting up in Heaven.

You private beliefs are your private beliefs. The issue though is that you’ve pitched up here insisting that this and other private beliefs aren’t just private at all – you actually think they’re objectively true.

And the problem with that is that, absent even of scrap of evidence to suggest that they are, those at whom you presume to evangelise can quickly spot that they’re nonsense.

How did he answer prayers made by the people in Grenfell?   I think that some of them were probably praying, and I would think sincerely, as they faced imminent death.   Did God promise them a painfree death, or a place in heaven?  How about the children - did he tell them that there would be no more homework after they were dead?

You can’t share something you give people no reason to think to be true in the first place.

I explained to you a few posts ago where you go wrong but, predictably, you just ignored the problem: if you have time to post bad arguments, then you have time to post good ones instead.

If you do have any, why not start there rather than presume that others will just take your word for it despite the only evidence we have contradicting your assertions?

Sorry.   I am in a rage about Grenfell, and if anybody starts telling me about God responding to prayer, I feel more rage.  He didn't.
