The choice is made subconciously and emerges into our concious self in such a short time later, we don't really notice that it happened that way.
No soul required.

This is really not so difficult.
Don't know about you, but I am fully conscious of what I choose to write on this forum - it is obviously not chosen by nature, but by me.

me being something you cannot define logically, and the last part of your sentence is a false dichotomy. Indeed it's not clear it's different.

There isn't a separate class of determinism, material determinism.  That's what Alan likes to imagine, and I like to dispute.
But material determinism offers no form of control - just inevitable unavoidable reaction.

Any form of determinism doesn't allow for anything other than that. Inserting the word material as you do with physical is pointless in terms of the logic.

So you are outside of nature?

As in by pure chance their'll always be some of us have a far more vivid imagination than others, as in some by pure chance will always be among those that are more suseptible to indoctrination by strange superstion based doctrins than others?

No
We are all spiritual beings, because we have the power to consciously interact with nature, not just be driven by it.

You seem to have a very blinkered view of logic.

Complete non sequitur to my post, and you have managed to fit in a begging the question in assuming the thing you are arguing for, and on top of that it's a thing that you haven't managed in your many thousands of posts on here to define in a logically coherent way. Even for you, Alan, that was a sentence of stunning worthlessness.

There is no evidence it exists.

Well...you exist!  Just try to identify what you really are. That is all there is to it.

No amount of attempted fallacy detection can take away the truth in what I posted.  The physically pre determined reactions in nature could never give you the power to consciously choose what you have written.
