Blasphemy in Iceland
« on: July 03, 2015, 07:44:24 PM »
The heading says that Iceland has made blasphemy legal. I suspect that that is rather poor subbing - it makes it sound as though blasphemy is compulsory!

Perhaps blashemy is no longer a criminal offence would have been more accurate.

Another victory for good sense and secularism.

Except some choose to make it a licence to be abusive.

Blasphemy has been not illegal in this country for some time. It has been, so I have been reliably informed, replaced by a charge of language likely or intended to incite religious hatred.
The Holy Bible, probably the most diabolical work of fiction ever to be visited upon mankind.

I like blaspheming it makes me feel good when I am stressed! ;D ;D ;D It is crazy that it is illegal in some places, you should be permitted to be a rude as you like about any deity, especially as they more than likely don't exist.

AND!!!!! It is of interest because????
It is not relevant as the other things against the Christian Church and God are not relevant. You cannot take God out of man by removing the outward things which speak about God.

The Christian knows that what is happening now is all part of Gods plan a plan which decides the final outcome of everything man does or says in the greater scheme of things.

In the end... GOD ALWAYS WINS... It is a fact no one can escape and history past or present cannot change... No way for man to stop or change that fact...

If God does not exist then why should he make you feel good? :o

I suspect that Fllo's atatement that "blaspheming it makes me feel good when I am stressed" may well mean that, when under stress, to yell at the top of your voice "JESUS F*****G CHRIST ALL-F*****G-MIGHTY" is a great means of stress relief.

I know that it works for me.

No I should not be out doing anything with trees - the next pagan 'date' is the next full moon and then Lughnasadh on August 1st.

Full moon?  Isn't that, historically, the time of lunacy?

It is sad that some people are so busy dissing other posters, they can't see how crazy and lacking in intellect they really are themselves. For all my faults, and I have many, I do realise with utmost clarity I was not first in the queue when brains were being issued. :( However, as my husband before his illness had a high intelligence, which our children have inherited, I do recognise intelligence, or lack of it, in others. The poster who is often criticising people for being lacking in that area, is actually one of the people who seems to have the fewest brain cells!  ::)

Yes, I quite agree.  For my part, I have to say, if I have a fault, and I haven't, it's modesty.     ;D
