It seems like a lie to me.  The car in the TV series had the Confederate Battle Flag on it, end of story.  To paint over it now would be to try to ignore the uncomfortable issues that arise from what it represents.

... not to mention the fact that to paint over that particular flag on that particular car would in the eyes of many desecrate or falsify what is surely now an item of televisual history/popular culture, a museum piece of sorts.

And what obnoxious opinions do I spout. If you mean my views about the deity, then surely one should diss it BIG TIME as it is much more evil than Hitler, if it exists, and what is recorded about it in the Bible had any truth!

Racism is clearly wrong but I don't think airbrushing the racism of the past out of existence is a positive step.

Well, you seem very keen to remove traces of the nasty side of human history; surely we need to keep them so that future generations  see what such horrendous historical events did to humanity.  Espousing the removal of such focal points is, in my opinion, both obnoxious and mistaken.
