Well Googled  ;)

I more appropriate quote to the person to whom the Churchillian one was addressed would probablily be:

Empty vessels make the most noise.

What d'ya think, Shaker?

Not a very nice thing to say about Atlee, who was a worthy man!    :)
BA.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.

It is my commandment that you love one another."

Shame it wasn't Atlee I was referring to. I was referring to the person it was directed at on this thread, and not by Churchill either, but then you already knew that.

If you deny any part of the OT by declaring some of it not to be true, then you are also break the instructions within it.

But who cares about the instructions in the OT if we are declaring it to be not true?

Are you a Christian??

Quote
I am asking the Christians...

How can you deny the truth of the bible when God clearly warns that you have to live by every word of God not your own wisdom

Who is the 'WE'?  Are you claiming to be speaking as a Christian for Christians? ::)

Sorry for replying on this public message board.  I'll rephrase:

But who cares about the instructions in the OT if some Christians (e.g. BA) are declaring it to be not true?

What instructions form the OT is BA declaring not to be true. Not true for who.

Do the shallow atheists on here really think that Jesus was being so narrow in His words?

No, by and large the atheists - shallow or otherwise - are skeptical as to whether Jesus existed at all, and generally couldn't give two hoots what he said if he did exist. What we're worried about, in the main, is what people who believe they know what Jesus said think and want so see happen.

Quote
As far as any eternal life goes, the physical needs of the body really make no difference. They sustain your mortal life, which is a microscopic fleck of time in a grand scheme of things. So He's saying that it would be stupid to trade eternity to sustain the body. You need both to be complete. You have to mind the physical body and the spirit. Man cannot live a full spiritual life if his perspective is based solely on the physical side of bread alone.

And all you need do to justify that is give some sort of meaningful explanation of what 'spiritual' is... Good luck.
