By his stripes we are healed....
« on: August 17, 2015, 09:22:34 AM »
King James Bible
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Christ died for sins and for healing...

It appears sometimes as believers we fail to live in peace knowing that Christ has bore all our sins present and future as well healed us with his stripes.

King James Bible
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

This morning I felt lead to share these words... Do we really understand fully what God is doing and what they mean to us who believe and trust our lives into the hands of the living God?

So for believers what does Christ , his Life, Suffering, Death and Resurrection mean for YOU and your family?

If you had faith the size of a mustard seed....

It appears it does not require a large amount of faith as the mustard seed is the smallest seed known at the time of Christ...

I see your off on another mission Sass but what is the point you can't even establish that there is any credibility in the magical, mysterious and superstition most of your manual is based on.

Until you can establish that the important to you parts of your manual, as above, are established as facts why waste your time?

If Christians are healed why do we see prayer petitions for healing?

Why are they not healed as you suggest?

Good question, but one for which you will not receive a credible answer.

I thought you might like to know I am saved and I am a new creation, also very happy and content doing as best as I can the will of my creator.

I think this scripture will suffice                  11 He who is unrighteous (unjust, wicked), let him be unrighteous still; and he who is filthy (vile, impure), let him be filthy still; and he who is righteous (just, upright, in right standing with God), let him do right still; and he who is holy, let him be holy still.

So we have { He who is unrighteous (unjust, wicked), let him be unrighteous still;} could that be you,we have { and he who is filthy (vile, impure), let him be filthy still;} could that be you,and finally with my trust and faith in Christ we have { he who is righteous (just, upright, in right standing with God), let him do right still; and he who is holy, let him be holy still.}

So I am saved by works, not my works, but the works of Christ.

The ministry of Jesus was about showing people how to live. It's beyond tragic that people focus so much on his death that they forget that.

Big W there's no need to be an authority on religion to realize how potty the whole notion is, it's divisive.

Don't we humans fall out with each other enough without introducing the man made, unnecessary and nonsensical ideas of religions into the arena as well?

If you don't think religion is nonsense I note ~TWit is posting on this thread?

What is it you like, the idea of Floo and I hurting ourselves or the idea that we should dwell on Jesus' death rather than the stuff he taught about living?

Neither. In the search for the historical Floo, it is clear that any post without the words "veracity" or "credible" or stating that "the deity is evil" is not from floo.
I thought TW's question about floo being barmy was spot on.

As for "dwell(ing) on Jesus' death rather than the stuff he taught about living", why should it be just one or the other.

And no, I was not liking the idea of floo and you hurting yourselves. Nor do I think TW was suggesting you literally banged your heads together. Did you really take it that way?

Actually these verses are more apt when it comes to the truth.

YOU .. King James 2000 Bible
The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank you, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector.

ME.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner

Now the final truth.

I am the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus our Lord.
I have no self righteousness.. I see you clearly think yourself better than anyone else and superfluous in your own type of righteousness.

If you really followed the truth you would have noticed that my posts have been only about scripture and the truth. Called to examine ourselves and our life by that truth. No matter what you do, you show you are no friend of the truth in Christ.
For anyone who believes on the name of Jesus is saved.
I do know that you are not capable of taking God on. Do you believe you are more righteous than the Pharisee and the publican.

Go think about it and pray. For God knows the truth and so do I.
After all it was God himself who sent the Angel and made it a fact.

35 And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

NOT GOD, the Son of God.

You need to take the matter up with God before you sin anymore.

The two commandments off Christ show that it was about the true God and the true love for each other that Christ taught about.
That there is only one way to this and that is Christ and the Spirit for we can do nothing in our own strength...

Just pure ignorance...

Christians DO NOT dwell on his death. Rather they understand that which they have today because of that death.
Christ rising from death gives the credence to the faith professed by millions...

In all honesty if asked to give my faith up for Love of another it would be an impossibility. It would be to say my faith is false.
In truth I could not actually make an act of giving up my faith for another because it would be a lie. I believe the disciples were in the same position when it cost them their lives. It does not make our faith less real or our God less true to deny either. In our hearts we know that God is real. So we would deceive ourselves and deceive others.

Men want believers to deny their faith.... not because it makes God any less real but helps their cause to believe he is none existent.
The truth is that God loves us unconditionally... When someone dies for their faith it isn't about stubborness or dishonesty and doubt.
It is about truth in it's highest and purest form. One true God made known to man by Jesus Christ.

Credible... what about dying for your belief rather than deny God is not credible evidence than that...
