Police & Crime Commissioners
« on: August 20, 2015, 06:44:23 PM »
I don't know what folk think about the first 4 [?} years of Police & Crime Commissioners, but I hear that there has been a suggestion that they ought to take over the control of local fire brigades as well.  Any thoughts?  The Welsh Government have suggestred that devolving police powers to Cardiff would be a better way for Wales and would allow better collaboration between 2 devolved-power organisations.

Are your, or your friends'/relatives', garages, lofts or sheds full of unused DIY gear, sewing/knitting machines or fabric and haberdashery stuff?

Lists of what is needed and a search engine to find your nearest collector (scroll to bottom for latter) are here:  http://www.twam.uk/donate-tools

In theory Police & Crime Commissioners seems a good idea but in practice what has changed? They just attract the people who like power anyway and probably use it to work with the people at the top than to be a proper representative for the person in the street. I'm at a bit of a loss about the whole affair.

Agreed. The Kent Commissioner has made something of a joke of herself.
