I know you did not intend this, but my initial reading of your post was that he is being prosecuted for incitement to terror because he advocated killing gays. The two events are seperate,

I confess I had equated the two things ... sorry.

However, in my book inciting people to murder anybody is a criminal action demanding arrest and trial. I guess my concept of law and order is a tad old-fashioned.

Anyone who is bigoted towards gays is very nasty indeed. There are quite a number of extreme Christians who would delight in seeing gays being beaten up or killed because of their sexuality, including a now banned member of this forum!

I suppose that the difference between his stated view that gays "should be" stoned to death is only the expression of an opinion, and, while odious in the extreme, it is not actually illegal any more than a Christian invoking Exodus 22:18 against me is breaking any law, but his publishing, anywhere in or on the media in any form, his support, and calling others to support, IS is a criminal offence in and of itself.

For her actions in banning men and white people from her events, yes, as this is active sexual discrimnination.

For tweeting "Kill all white men"? I don't know as it would depend upon the context of anything else in the same tweet, if there was any content to the tweet.

If there was none and it was a stand alone comment, then no, but if it was posted with actiive recruitment of others to actually go out anfd "Kill all white men" then yes.

I appear to have opened a can of worms, and wish I hadn't.

However, I feel that anybody who seriously advocates murder, should at least be subjected to re-education of some sort. Better prevention than cure.

Don't bother to feel threatened by him Leonard, he's well known even by Muslims in the UK as being a prat.

As I don't live in the UK, Rose, I suppose it shouldn't bother me ... but he must make gays over there feel very uncomfortable to say the least. Spain is quite another scenario.

As a contrary anecdote, we have Muslim neighbours who have always treated us with the greatest respect, and in fact just recently brought Hugh home in their car because they found him exhausted on his way back from the rastro (a sort of glorified car boot sale). Lovely people.

Unfortunately, there are bad apples in every barrel of good ones.
