One of my mum's favourites, she was a great Springfield fan though there are several other versions. Sounds good in French.

If you go away on this summer day
Then you might as well take the sun away
All the birds that flew in the summer sky
When our love was new and our hearts were high
When the day was young and the night was long
And the moon stood still for the night bird's song
If you go away, if you go away, if you go away
But if you stay, I'll make you a day
Like no day has been or will be again
We'll sail on the sun, we'll ride on the rain
We'll talk to the trees and worship the wind
Then if you go, I'll understand
Leave me just enough love to hold in my hand
True Wit is Nature to Advantage drest,

If I recall correctly, and as it is Dusty I think I do - she does sing this partly in French at least on the version I have got (it's possible there is more than one recording).

It was a hot afternoon
 The last day of June
And the sun was a demon
 The clouds were afraid
 One-ten in the shade
 And the pavement was steaming

I told Billy Ray
 In his red Chevrolet
I needed time for some thinking
 I was just walking by
When I looked in her eye
And I swore, it was winking

Before we work on Artificial Intelligence shouldn't we address the problem of natural stupidity.

Given it's a Jacques Brel song, not that surprising that it sounds good in French. The French lyric  is sadder.

Oh, what a beautiful morning
Oh, what a beautiful day
I've got a beautiful feeling
Everything's going my way.

All the cattle are standing like statues
All the cattle are standing like statues
They don't turn their heads as they see me ride by
But a little brown maverick is winking her eye.

Oh, what a beautiful morning
Oh, what a beautiful day
I've got a beautiful feeling
Everything's going my way.

All the sounds of the earth are like music
Oh the sounds of the earth are like music
The breeze is so busy, it don't miss a tree
And an old weeping willow is laughing at me.

Sunday morning, up with the lark
I think I'll take a walk in the park
Hey hey hey, it's a beautiful day
I've got someone waiting for me
And when I see her I know that she'll say
Hey hey hey, what a beautiful day

Hi hi hi, beautiful Sunday
This is my my my beautiful day
When you said said said said that you loved me
Oh my my my it's a beautiful day

Today while the blossoms still cling to the vine,
I'll taste your strawberries, I'll drink your sweet wine.
A million tomorrows shall all pass away, 'ere I forget all the joy that is mine, today.
I'll be a dandy and I'll be a rover, you'll know who I am by the songs that I sing.
I'll feast at your table, I'll sleep in your clover, who cares what tomorrow shall bring?

I believe for every drop of rain that falls
A flower grows,
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night
A candle glows.
I believe for everyone who goes astray
Someone will come to show the way.
I believe,
Oh, I believe.
I believe above the storm
The smallest prayer, will still be heard.
I believe that someone in that great somewhere
Hears every word
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,
Or touch a leaf
Or see the sky,
Then I know why I believe.
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,
Or touch a leaf
Or see the sky,
Then I know why I believe.

Fresh winds shadows lifting
Wide open welcoming hearts
Against the pink sky blackberry tangles
A circle of friendship begin under the stars
And this is life
Full of beauty and wonder
Beauty and wonder
And this is life
Full of beauty and wonder
In the twinkling of an eye it came to me
Peace at last within myself
And the white spray of the waves
And the moon is my night light

Yesterday a child came out to wonder
Caught a dragonfly inside a jar
Fearful when the sky was full of thunder
And tearful at the falling of a star
Then the child moved ten times round the seasons
Skated over ten clear frozen streams
Words like, when you're older, must appease him
And promises of someday make his dreams
And the seasons they go round and round
And the painted ponies go up and dawn
We're captive on the carousel of time
We can't return we con only look behind
 From where we came
And go round and round and round
 In the circle game.

Round and round like a horse on a carousel, we go
Will I catch up to love, I can never tell, I know
Chasing after you is like a fairy tale, but I
Feel like I'm glued on tight to this carousel

Come, come one, come all
You must be this tall
To ride this, ride at the carnival

When I get to the bottom
I go back to the top of the slide
An' I stop, an' I turn, an' I go for a ride
Til I get to the bottom
 An' I see you again
 Yeh
Do you, don't you, want me to love you?
I'm comin' down fast, but I'm miles above you
Tell me, tell me, tell me
Come on, tell me the answer
Well, you may be a lover but you ain't no dancer
 Lookout

Helter Skelter
 Helter Skelter
 Helter Skelter, Yeh

Spaced out, far out, get another car out
Dodgem Dude is dancing on the desert of the Ring
And he drives his car with style
While he smiles at all the wiles
The cars go round and round and then he hits them

Smash them, crash them, get your chips and cash them
Dodgem Dude don't dare, don't dare to understand
And the music growls and moans
For he knows he can't go home
So he's grinning as the sparks fly when he hits them

Spill them, kill them, have your kicks and thrill them
Race them, chase them, turn the car and face them
Dodgem Dude is dancing on the desert of his brains

I guess this means that:

the carnival is over,
 we may never meet again.

Like a drum my heart was beating,
and your kiss was sweet as wine.
But the joys of love are fleeting,
 for Pierrot and Columbine.

Leave me bleeding on the bed
See you right back here tomorrow for the next round
Keep this scene inside your head
As the bruises turn to yellow
The swelling goes down

And if you're ever around
In the city or the suburbs of this town
Be sure to come around
I'll be wallowing in sorrow
And wearing a frown
Like Pierrot the Clown

Same old boring Sunday morning
Old man's out washing the car
Mum's in the kitchen, cooking Sunday dinner
Her best meal moaning while it lasts
 Johnny's upstairs in his bedroom
 Sitting in the dark
 Annoying the neighbors
With his punk rock electric guitar
 This is the sound
This is the sound of the suburbs
 This is the sound
This is the sound of the suburbs

Maybe I'm just waiting for the right time
To come along
Birds don't sing because they have answers
They sing because they have songs
Baby bay how could you forget?
Have not forgotten just not finished yet
So what have we got?
We got a lot of nothing finished yet
How could I forget
We are eiffel tower high
Shaky like a hollywood hillside
Norwegian winter long
Birds flying across the ocean
The dirty war is in our song
As true as any slip of your tongue
Some put on wetsuits others a wedding ring
No need to say anythingjust feel better
I'll be waiting I'm still wainting
Baby bay how could you forget?
Have not forgotten just not finished yet
And we know...
We got a lot of nothing finished yet

She told me she worked
In the morning and started to laugh
I told her I didn't
And crawled off to sleep in the bath

And when I awoke I was alone
This bird had flown
So I lit a fire
Isn't it good Norwegian wood?

No I don't belong to her
I don't belong to any body
She's my Christ-forsaken angel
But she don't hear me cry
She's a lone-hearted mystic
And she can't carry on
When I'm there, she's all right
But she's not when I'm gone

Heaven knows that the answer
She don't calling no one
She's the way, forsaken beauty
For she's mine, for the one
And I lost her, hesitation
By temptation as it runs
But she don't holler me
But I'm not there, I'm gone

Oh every time it rains
It rains pennies from heaven
Don't you know each cloud contains
Pennies from heaven
You'll find your fortune
Fallin' all over town
Be sure that your umbrella is upside down
Trade them for a package of sunshine and flowers
It you want the things you love
You must have showers
So when you hear it thunder
Don't run under a tree
There'll be pennies from heaven
For you and me

I can't stand the rain
Against my window
Bringing back sweet memories
I can't stand the rain
Against my window
'Cause he ain't here with me
Hey window pane
Tell me, do you remember
How sweet it used to be

The sweet sweet memories you gave-a me
You can't beat the memories you gave-a me
Take one fresh and tender kiss
Add one stolen night of bliss
One girl, one boy some grief, some joy
Memories are made of this
Don't forget a small moon beam
Fold in lightly with a dream
Your lips and mine, two sips of wine
Memories are made of this.

Take me away from the city and lead me to where I can be on my own,
I wanted to see it, and now that I have, I want just to be left alone,
I'll always remember your kind words, and I'll still remember your name,
But I've seen you changing and turning, and I know that things won't be the same.
I remember that summer in Dublin, and the liffey as it stank like hell,
And the young people walking on Grafton street, and everyone looking so well,
I was singing a song I heard somewhere, called "Rock 'n' roll never forgets",
When my hummin' was smothered by a 46a and the scream of a low flying jet.
So I jumped on a bus to dun laoire, stoppin' off to pick up my guitar,
And a drunk on the bus told me how to get rich.

In Dublin's fair city
where the girls are so pretty
I once met a girl named sweet Molly Malone
and she wheeled her wheel barrow
through the streets broad and narrow
singing cockles and mussels alive alive oh

She was a fish monger
and sure was no wonder
so were her mother and father before
and they wheeled their wheel barrow
through the streets broad and narrow
singing cockles and mussels alive alive oh

Oh, Mary, this London's a wonderful sight
With people here working by day and by night
They don't sow potatoes nor barley nor wheat
But there's gangs of them diggin' for gold in the street
At least when I asked them, that's what I was told
So I just took a hand at this diggin' for gold
But for all that I've found there, I might as well be
In the place where the dark Mourne sweeps down to the sea
