And now the end is near and so I face the final roller blind ( modern version )

Anyway, all about a guy doing it his way. :P :P

Frankie Howerds version of this was the definitive one.

Anyhow...

You may not be an angel,
But angels are so few,
So until the day that one comes along,
I'll string along with you.

My blue heaven.

When whippoorwills call
And evening is nigh
I hurry to my Blue Heaven

I turn to the right
A little white light
Will lead you to my Blue Heaven

A smiling face, a fireplace, a cosy room
A little nest that nestles where roses bloom

Just Molly and me
And baby makes three
We're happy in my Blue Heaven.

Blue moon, you saw me standing alone, without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own.

The night is young and you're so beautiful.

The night is young and you're so beautiful.
Here among the shadows, beautiful lady, open you heart.
The scene is set, the breezes sing of it,
Can't you get into the swing of it, lady, when do we start?
When the lady is kissable and the evening is cool,
Any dream is permissible in the heart of a fool.
The moon is high and you're so glamorous,
And if I seem over amorous, lady, what can I do?
The night is young and I'm in love with you.

All the way.

When somebody loves you
It's no good unless he loves you - all the way
Happy to be near you
When you need someone to cheer you - all the way

Taller than the tallest tree is
That's how it's got to feel
Deeper than the deep blue see is
That's how deep it goes - if its real

When somebody needs you
It's no good unless he needs you - all the way
Through the good or lean years
And for all the in between years - come what may

Who know where the road will lead us
Only a fool would say
But if you'll let me love you
It's for sure I'm gonna love you - all the way, all the way

The way you look tonight

Can't resist posting the full lyric, it's so beautiful!

Someday, when I'm awfully low
And the world is cold
I will feel a glow just thinking of you
And the way you look tonight

Yes, you're lovely
With your smile so warm, and your cheek so soft
There is nothing for me but to love you
Just the way you look tonight

With each word your tenderness grows
Tearing my fear apart
And that smile that wrinkles your nose
Touches my foolish heart

Lovely, never, never change
Keep that breathless charm
Won't you please arrange it, 'cause I love you
Just the way you look tonight.

Yes, those great Tin Pan Alley names were a large part of the youth of us oldies. A Golden, romantic era which, although make-believe, made life rather wonderful.

I suppose every generation has the same experiences and feelings.

what a wonderful world, yes a very loose connection, but there are no songs about climate change.

City of laughter, city of tears.

City of Laughter, City of Tears,
What are the secrets you hold?
What are the sorrows beneath the joys,
The pain 'neath the glitter and gold?
Faces are beaming, happy and bright,
But 'mid all the pleasure that cheers,
There are hearts that seem light, that are breaking to-night,
In that City of Laughter and Tears.

Tera on my pillow.

Tears on my pillow, an ache in my heart
A broken vow, I’m lonesome now
There’s someone else you love

Tears on my pillow, oh, why should it be
She’d often talk about that walk
Right down the aisle with me

Rumours that I disbelieved
Have now all come true
I know that I’ve been deceived
What my heart’s gone through

Tears on my pillow, for now we’re apart
My eyes are red with tears I’ve shed
I’m left a broken heart.

Hi Gonners,

There are a number of things I can't get romantic about, and climate change is one of them. It's not that it lacks importance ... it just ain't romantic!  :)
