No Rose, floo claims to have given up on God back when she was young, according to her God didn't respond to her prayers when she was having a difficult time.
After going over the Brother Doli poltergeist tale, BBC, and other investigations, this prayerful poem by floo fits right in. It's baloney, like what she accuses Sass of writing.

Indeed, the word, "hypocrite,"  springs to mind!

Eh ?

Wasn't it you who on another thread is arguing that people should refrain from personal attacks, and rather to stick to debating the ideas ? If you are happy to indulge those tactics yourself then you can't really deny the same to others.

A statement of fact is not a personal attack.  Floo consistently derides Sass.  She rarely misses the opportunity to make disparaging comments.  And it turns out she is far from free of "unusual" goings-on herself.  So she is the last person to throw brick-bats.  Perhaps you should keep more up to date before throwing in your tuppence worth.

Ah, so when others lob invective around, that is hurtful, something to be avoided, but when you do it, it is a statement of fact and therefore OK.  I don't think you are suddenly the arbiter of what is factual.

Sass give as good as she gets, I have no problem in challenging her nonsense!

And there you go again.  What is nonsense to you, is precious to her, and to constantly, and I mean constantly, mock her is both cruel and ignorant.   If she were to say, for example, she'd seen images of the Lord, you'd drop on her like a ton of bricks.  Of course, you never claim to see images of anything.  If you did I wonder if people would make a point of constantly deriding you?

And there we see precisely what I have been talking bout:  you are only here to attack and criticise.  Anything positive to say today?  Thought not!

It's perfectly possible to disagree with Sass's stance on faith - and I do - vehemently.
But needless mockery of that stance solves nothing.

Why should she, or anybody, have to be the target of your ill-founded invective, day in and day out?  do you never rest from it?

I think there are a couple of Christian posters that can sometimes come across as judgemental and all knowing.   :-X

I suspect, they set people off.

To some people the combination is a bit like a red flag to a bull  ;)

That's "red rag to a bull,"  actually.    ;)

And.....?
You're not the only target for that 'boot', floo.
Retaliation in similar vein solves nothing.

Probably not, but where she is concerned it is so very satisfying! ;D

So, you have no problem with your 'nonsense' (which it often is, by the way, even when we remove the debate about the existence of a deity) being challenged?
Are your, or your friends'/relatives', garages, lofts or sheds full of unused DIY gear, sewing/knitting machines or fabric and haberdashery stuff?

A First Time Grandma痴 Prayer

Lord,

Thank you for my baby grandson, I love him so much, from the top of his head to his wiggly little toes.

Help me not to be too critical of the new child rearing methods, although I do have to say that three in a bed appears a little over-crowded! Demand feeding has a place, but 24/7 seems excessive!

Please assist me in being less cock-a-hoop when my pearls of wisdom are accessed, especially after the latest technique has miserably failed to bring up his wind!

I admit to enjoying retail therapy, the baby clothes are much cuter than when my children were infants. However, the piece of plastic in my purse is showing considerable signs of wear!

I want to be there for him as he grows, a grandmotherly refuge when fleeing from his parent痴 opprobrium!

Please support me as his mentor so I can offer him wise counsel, an understanding heart and loving friendship. AMEN.

You are a LIAR! I have just looked up the poem, 'Child of my child' I wrote in  2002 when my first grandchild was born, there is not one mention of the flipping deity in it!

You are the liar.  It begins, "Lord."

I knew all you've come back for was because you've missed the abuse, still it looks like you've made a good start, bootnose.

Have you read it?  It also ends, "amen," the usual ending of a prayer to the Lord; and was posted on Christian Forums!  Stop trying to defend the indefensible.

So, you have no problem with your 'nonsense' (which it often is, by the way, even when we remove the debate about the existence of a deity) being challenged?

I have no problem when the fundies try to get me to see it their way. It is often quite amusing, especially when they make statements of fact for which they have not the slightest shred of evidence!

Anyone who posts on forums of this nature should expect to be vigorously challenged, if they don't like it they are not obliged to post here are they? Those who whinge and whine about it are pathetic, especially if their posts and more belligerent and nasty than those of most other posters.! One poster for whom I have respect, even if I don't see it his way in any shape or form, is Alan Burns. He gets a heck of a lot of stick from me and others for his stance on religion, but doesn't complain.

I found the one Johnny is referring to.

It's on the Christian forums.

Sorry I still can't bring it up! If I did write such a poem I have no recollection of doing so and it is not stored in my archive like everything else I have ever written.
