Well that's a bonus I suppose.

Swiss friends refusing to drive. Looks like the kids get another night away.

Very grey, gloomy and wet, although not really heavy rain, here this morning, so no walk today. Much milder though.

Having written that, I thought I'd better go and check out the front, and the sun is showing a bit, but it is still too likely to rain, so, reluctantly, I'll stay in and do all my physio exercises instead!

First real snow for about two years here in the Vale of Evesham.

I'm not going for my usual Sunday walk and pub meal, so I've got to find some way of filling the day.

It also means that I shall not see my friends today - they may welcome the respite!  ???

I'm hearing the the roads are chaotic round here, cars sliding into ditches and all sorts. Am glad to have enough food in. Not sure if the kids are coming home - they are part of the way at someone else's house now. And the dog has decided he is definitely scared of the snow and is hiding inside.

I've been up since 5:00am and it hasn't stopped for a minute.

Been raining here now turning to sleat. CFold night expected so doubtless turning to ice. Saw some trees damaged when out this morning.

We need the snow plough to come through here. If what is out there now freezes the road will be impossible to drive at all.

Just made a snowman with my youngest. The end result was more Stephen King than Raymond Briggs.

Rhiannon, I'm sure you must be feeling anxious. Sounds crazy, I know, but try not to worry. From what you say, they are safe and the Swiss person will no doubt be giving them words of comfort. You and your children are in my thoughts and prayers.

Humph, I love Ben Hur.... could watch it over and over, haha....

Well here, just north of Worcester, we have around 8ins and being in a cul-de-sac are well snowed-in.

I've been informed the two eldest grandchildren are loving it.... their first experience of snow. The other two are too young to know the excitement.

Floo, I had an experience on Friday trying to get somewhere in the first snowfall. It took me 45mins to do a 20min journey and then the weather closed-in and I had to turn back which took me another hour to get home.

Thank you, SweetPea.  :)

My eldest hated the first time she went out in the snow, she looked at me like I was off my head for taking her outside then burst into tears.

Aww..... they all react differently. Apparently my granddaughter is quite excited whereas my grandson is over the moon and 'Dad', my son, has been in and out all morning with him.

Quite a heavy snowfall on Wednesday, tooped up by some flurries on Thursday. The whole shebang turned to ice then, and, since the temperature's -7 outside at the moment, I don't see the ice vanishing anytime soon.

My sympathies, floo. Mind you, I haven't been out the door since Thursday....I wish someone would invent a long cane which deals with ice and snow! I could just about manage a hundred yards yesterday before I was unable to find a kerb which I KNOW is there.....
