We had a slight frost this morning, the first of the season. It is very bright and sunny now.

16c down here in deepest Essex L R, you know every time the temperature goes to 14 or below outside I know it as soon as I go outside I have to keep drying my nose every now and again, annoying.

Went for a five mile walk this morning. Clear blue sky and warm sunshine. I was overdressed.

We had a walk and a picnic on the local hills with daughter and her family.

It was glorious. By the time we had reached the top we were down to one layer of clothing. The views were spectacular and eldest granddaughter decided we were on top of the world.

I'm off on a bike ride to Hertford within the hour, so I hope it doesn't start snowing here. I reached my unambitious annual mileage target for this year of 1,500 miles recently, so now I'm going for 1,600. This ride will help.
