I'm 6miles from the top of an active volcano, fortunately it's not erupting ATM ( within the next 12 years max).

It sunny and 23c here like one of our summers.

I think Spring might have finally sprung it is a lovely sunny day here, with quite a bit of heat in it. Mind you, knowing the great British weather, it might decide to snow tomorrow!

Too right!  I read somewhere that snow is predicted for Easter.

Lovely day here - went out on the motorbike this morning down to Balmaha on the east side of Loch Lomond. Not many tourists this early in the year so was able to give it a blast!

Still hot though floo, at least it is here.  I was out early this morning and it wasn't too bad but by the time I reached near home, it was boiling.   I went into the cleaners and the lady was talking to me - I zoned out and missed everything she said  .  When I apologised she said, "It's the heat".

Would be nice to be by the sea.

It's horrible when there appears to be no air, muggy and humid.  Yesterday and today very hot where I am, 26ish, but the breeze is lovely so not a problem.   We've had some intolerable days and nights though.   

I understand it was up to 34 in the Medway towns yesterday which must have been awful.  Nice for being down at the coast.

I have been back from SW France, where I have been for a couple of months, for a few days. There we had temperatures in the mid 30s for days on end. Usually accompanied by rather high humidity - on a few days though it was positively Mediterranean in its pleasantness.

My first thought on returning to England was that everyone had painted their front gardens green - but a neighbour did assure me that it was indeed grass (which in my recent experience was brown and crumbly).

I was looking forward to some familiar weather yesterday, a return to the temperatures of SW France. No such luck here in Worcestershire: it pissed down with rain instead. Today is much, much better.

It's not so much the heat that bothers me but the humidity.  When we were in nepal, we would regularly bask in 35-37C in April and May and it would be great.  Come mid-June, the temperature wouldn't change, but the humidity would - from about 55% to 95% - all down to the arrival of the monsoon.  It would take until the end of July/mid-August to cool down to about 20C

Pleasant today if a little dull but it wasn't cold, nor was it too hot so no complaints.

Here, which is the G61 postcode area to the north-west of Glasgow, it is snowing heavily right now and is about 2 in deep at present and settling.

If it keeps up, given we are about 200 ft higher than Glasgow itself so it does tend to settle here, and since there's not much traffic on local roads at this time of day, Mrs G could be stuck here tomorrow if she can't get to the main road to go to work (which means my valuable leisure time will be disrupted).

S'about three inches deep in East Ayrshire: the pavements are covered, and the gritters have been round the minor streets in the town a couple of times.

I agree humidity is very draining indeed.

Taking that issue a tad further, does anyone suffer from what a doctor I know once called 'high humidity headaches'or even nosebleeds?  Until relatively recently, I had to be very careful during very low pressure weather periods, as my nose - broken in a rugby accident all of 42 years ago - would erupt with blood with absolutely no warning other than the nature of the weather.

I don't have that problem, Hope, but sometimes when I am in SW France in summer, and it is hot and very humid I get asthma attacks.

I'm off to the Canaries for a short break in three weeks. If it were up to me I would stay there until April, but my dear wife has other ideas

We haven't had this much persistent rain for a couple of years, I reckon. Fortunately we live at the top of the incline and the nearest river is well below us  about three miles further East.  It isn't too windy, thank goodness.

Anyone had problems with wind or rain from Storm Angus?

Drove down the A1, very dark, but the rain held off until London, when it threw it down.   Odd yesterday in Norfolk, as we were expecting gales and storms, in fact, quiet all day.

Thankfully, its only happened once or twice in the last 5 years or so.

Took me an hour and a quarter (or more) to do what is usually a 30-40 minute journey between Bridgend and Cardiff earlier this evening.  In fact, it took me about 30 minutes to cover the last 5 or 6 miles.  OK, it was around 5pm, but several roads that I could have used were/are closed due to flooding!!

Was over near Bridgend to do a Safe Use of Pesticides using Specilaised Equipment course for the day.  Absolutely chucked it down most of the day, and trying to work out the swathe width (the spread of the spray from a nozzle) on the already soaking ground was all-but pointless.  Just have to hope that Dec 13th, when I'm assessed, will be dry!

The specialised equipment was a 50-year old shunting diesel loco with a purpose-built spray boom on its back (purpose-built by one of the railway's volunteers).

I have just looked out of my kitchen window and I can confirm that there is definitely weather here today.
