Within minutes of me posting about the snow falling, the sun came out and the temperature went up enough to give us a pleasantly warm afternoon, INCREDIBLE!
It's the sign of the end of the world so get reading your Bible, Floo, and pray to God It'll forgive you all your bad words against It.  ;D

It is snowing, although it doesn't feel cold enough!

Doesn't it always warm a little before it snows?

Floo, I meant to say, have I told you before that Essex is the driest, (has the least rainfall),county in the U K, only I can't quite r ember if I had said how little rain we have here in driest of the dry Essex before, :P :P, and I thought it might be a good idea to remind you how little rainfall we get here, in Essex, have to go now, trying to get the sun loungers out of the shed.

We had a frost this morning, but this afternoon is very sunny and quite warm. :)

Floo, is there any chance you could help us Essex lot, only we're running short of sun block down here and you must have some up there that wont be needed?

Well, I'm is SW France at the moment. I arrived yesterday to clear skies and 21 degrees, Today has been glorious.

I was really looking forward to the weekend - but then saw the meteo - rain, rain, followed by more rain. It will be fine again next week - when I have returned to England ...

It is very sunny today with a bit of a breeze, which is drying my washing nicely. :)

We only need to put our washing out for about ten minutes or so at the moment, that's only if you can bear the heat outside for that long.

I noticed on our allotment site that some potatoes and vines look frost-damaged, the spuds in particular completely blasted.   Apparently, French and English vineyards have also been hit badly, with temperatures going down to -6 last week.

People have been planting spuds earlier and earlier, it used to be Good Friday traditionally, but you see people planting them in February, expecting a mild winter and spring.

I am so cold, and I can't put the heating on as I'm waiting for a new oil tank and don't want to need a delivery before it's here. But it's been so dry too.

Dry, dry, dry.   We are haring round to the allotment, all hosepipes throbbing like the best gristle.*   Still, many plants are surviving pretty well.   It amazes me how tough things like lettuce are - drought, frost, it just bashes on like a tank.   We have an angelica which is magnificent right now, tall with massive seed-heads, doesn't  seem to need water.

We have had some heavy rain over night, and into the first part of this morning, which might have helped the garden a bit. It has been a remarkably dry year for our neck of the woods, although we have already seen more rain this month than in the winter! Our youngest girl and her family were going camping in Anglesey this weekend, but decided against it as the weather there is supposed to be very wet and quite windy.

Sorry about the rain Floo, I have been keeping away from travelling anywhere westward in the UK, so this time it's not me causing precipitation in your region.

Every holiday I've taken travelling anywhere westward in the U K I've been deluged with rain or sleet, much as the west is beautiful country
we no longer bother with it, we can be in France in about a couple of hours from here so there's very little to draw us to the west of the country.

If you ever have a drought there I'm prepared to make an exception and travel westward, for a small fee, and just the missus and I travelling in that direction with every certainty will break any drought.

It has been a perfect day weather-wise here.  Enough sun &strong breeze to dry washing in no time but I did mine very early and dried it indoors because I went to work today (do one Sat in four).

It's still bright and sunny, pleasantly warm & I feel mellow. Long may it continue.

Seriously Rob, every time we've taken a holiday in the westward parts of this isle, we've been deluged with all sorts of rain and sleet.

One year there was a country wide drought including the west country, there were stand pipes everywhere and as we were beginning to approach our destination the water was flooding the sides of the roads water was splashing everywhere, I reckon someone has put a curse on us, anyway it wouldn't be much different if someone had.

Another year we had a week there it rained for most of the time we were there other than four hours dry time on one day.

The last time it was very unwelcoming an overcast for a couple of days then it started to throw down hailstones to about two inches thick, we took a vote and all came home on the third day.

Much as the west is a beautiful place you'd have a job to drag me anywhere near there ever again, I can live quite well without so much wet weather; oh yes, as we went around the M25 north travelling eastwards, returning from that last time visit, the sun broke out and by the time we arrived home it was blazing hot.

Beautiful as it is in the west, you are welcome to my share of it; we do laugh about it now and offer our drought breaking expertise to all those living in the west, if it's ever needed and of course there would have to be a small fee involved; all of the above is the absolute truth, we can hardly believe it ourselves.

It is really hot today, in the high 20s, too hot for my comfort. Still I did get the washing dry within an hour.
How? Did you hang it up in front of you and talk at it for 60 minutes?

OK, that's way more than enough of this nonsense now - some cloud, a fall of 10° or so and a really good shower would be great, thanks.
