Still no rain here though the cool breeze is welcome.

No thunder or lightning here but around 3:40am rain heavy enough to wake me. Damp and muggy (26°) for the remainder of the day, says the Met Office.

Stormy here all night, much lightning, some thunder and a bit of rain. Feeling for the people in Coverack this morning.

Must be the crappiest summer here ever. Not a single warm spell so far.

Rain gratefully received by gardeners.   I'm so fed up with getting the hosepipe out every few days.   Come on, God, more, more.

I love storms in theory but weather like this always gives me a thumping headache. Can't focus or drive.

The folks in the Lizard peninsula would not agree, I think. Too many overtones of Boscastle a few years back, I think.

Yes, I thought that, although I believe the damage is less. Rubbish time of year for it to happen as well. Right as the tourist season is building up steam.

Floo I know I've been rather unkind about your weather up there in Wales, but I was only joking and had I realised the curse you were drumming up for me would be as bad as it has turned out I really do think I shouldn't have been so unkind to you, and now most humbly request from such a warm hearted kindly person that must have such a fulsome beauty please do something about stopping this incessant rain just for me, please.

Yours sincerely, ippy

Apart from a break of 3-4 hours yesterday evening it rained almost solidly for about 36 hours here, stopping only at about midday today.

Just driven through a relentless downpour. Roads under water. Rumour has it some local farms could lose as much as 80% of the grain harvest.

Ironically, here in the West of Scotland, it's been a lovely day: warm and sunny.

I don't know it's too wet to get out there to find out and I've lost my snorkel, we had two boys paddling their canoe in the middle of what should have been a road, in one part of the town, (North Essex).

:P Whereabouts are you? We are near the Cheshire border and haven't had much at all, the garden could really do with more.

My back garden has usually well drained soil but if you want a splash about at the moment just pop around.

I've acquired a new water but a couple of days ago and just as a thought I put it under the gutter outlet that takes approximately a half of the water falling on the whole my garage roof, it filled up in about one hour, I'm beginning to wonder if Floo's getting too powerful and does it involve me having to make some kind of donation?  Worrying.

Still throwing it down here. I forgot to get ketchup so we are having ketchup-less chips for dinner. Not risking going out again.

Ketchup-less chips.  :o

Pissed down yesterday, but today looks more promising, so I'm off for a bike ride, being in the first week of a fortnight's annual leave. The weekend promises to be not bad, as well, though it's fairly disappointing for August.

I'd love a good thunderstorm - been ages since there was a decent one.

Had good one whilst on holiday in Devon!

Drizzly later on in afternoon but quite warm earlier.  Eldest daughter had barbecue which we attended, twas lovely!  She told us she is going to America in January for about a year, with her firm.  I'm really pleased for her.

I will have a couple more days off, foot and leg still not quite right but improving.

Dull and a bit chilly for early September today, but dry.
