Or just making conversation. Lots of 4WD cars in London - nothing noteworthy but bloody useful compared to the slipping wheels of 2WD cars trying to reverse out of driveways and then drive forward down my road this morning.
my vehicle is about as much use as a greased pig on slippery surfaces , although I can make a cup of tea and get my head down if I get stuck

always a silver lining.... ;)    you've just got to look for it .
I appreciate the spirit. My wife and I spend too much time apart. Not getting to Bologna would ben annoyance, being stuck apart again would be deeply depressing.

I thnk the warnings translate as follows:

Yellow - unless you really have to don't travel, and make sure you have enough food in
Amber - if you are not travelling to save lives, don't and make soup, lots of it
Red - Don't fucking travel, and make sure you are not the weakest person in your group.
I've got a tin of oxtail soup from Lidl , will I be okay ?

You'll be fine!  Soup is perfect.

Lots of snow here in Bromley, at least in my road.  Seems to have stopped now.  Looks good, not severe enough to stop driving which I did to work earlier & will be going back.  The main roads are OK.

Ta!

Not surprised - & glad - flights are off.  Always err on side of caution is my motto.  Not bad round here tho', going to drive (only other part of Bromley  :D), back to work now.

Sorry about your bloke Rhi but absence makes heart grow stronger, so it's said.  The mental image you have of him will have to suffice for now ;).  NS don't talk to me about trains!  I spent years commuting to central London until 14  or so years ago & at the first hint of snow (different types of snow), trains were cancelled at drop of hat.

Walter, glad you're f****d. Result!

Drove into work this morning, white knuckle drive, was sent home early, white knuckle drive, Pub shut!! I thought essential services were supposed to remain open >:( Seriously, anyone in the Glasgow area, stay indoors, do what the polis are saying, don't travel.

Dear Sane,

I watched an artic, its load was going horizontal and the cab was vertical, the guy pulled out of it, watching it was frightening, how the poor guy driving it felt :o :o

The midgies hae their scarves oan.
"for, as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

Dear Gordon,

I have drove in it twice today, it is not just the snowfall, when the wind gets up your visibility is at best 30 yards!!
