Gorgeous here too, bit too hot for digging so as I have kids home in study leave we had a picnic in the garden under the birch tree. The lanes are lined with cow parsley foam, sexy hawthorn and the fields are blazing yellow under a hard blue sky. Nowhere finer than England on a day like this.

Lots of sunny weather forecast, well about 10 days, just a bit dry now, hosepipes at the ready.

Really, really lovely today, surprising as was chilly first thing when I got up. Soon warmed up, sunny with a little breeze. Not too hot.

Do it quick, before they slap a ban on!

Looks like there is going to be a lot of it about. Hoping that it doesn't do any more damage to my nephew's restaurant which got flooded with the last storms.

Hope he’s ok, NS. No storms here but I almost wish we’d had something just to break the weather, the humidity and pressure are awful, I’ve not slept and got a banging headache.

How are people coping with this heatwave? I don't do well in temperatures higher than 25C and start praying for snow.

I quite like it, but gardening is now devoted to watering.   Our allotment looks like a desert.    My wife went to Syon Park yesterday (big nursery),  and she said all the plants on sale were withering.   Rain dance now!

We could do with some rain, but once it starts it doesn't know when to stop.

I don't think we have had rain in June, can't remember any.   My wife has just gone off to water, bit of a chore now.

I'm ok with the temperature during the day but nights are a problem. Yesterday is the warmest I remember in Glasgow since 1976.

I wouldn't mind some rain. It's been very nice especially when there is a breeze which is the case today but sometimes a bit much. I've been so tired, glad to be off today but feel listless. A shower would perk me up.

I'm up on the coast, absolutely gorgeous and a full seven degrees cooler than back home.

Lovely! Ideal to be at the coast when the weather is like this. I enjoyed my week on the Yorkshire coast but there wasn't a heatwave like there is here and now, just warm and pleasant. We drove away from a heatwave to go to Filey.

I think we have had some brief showers this month wiggi.

The weather here changed from pleasant to perishing. Beach deserted apart from a bride and groom having their wedding photos taken, bless them. Absolutely love it when it is like this, headed back over the dunes for hot chocolate and fresh doughnuts. Oh yes.

Still scorchio here. Keep looking out for journalists trying to fry eggs on pavement/car bonnets.

Heading home tomorrow which I’m not looking forward to. One reason I reckon I’ll end up living here eventually. Love the kind of weather most people don’t.

Panic buying of plants to replace those shredded in the heat.   £25 at Syon Park, bloody hell.   But we got a winter savory, I like a nice unusual plant.  Will it survive?

Going on my past record where whenever my wife and I go to the west country the skies open up, a wet suit and flippers job.

Now if anyone is willing to finance us we would consider travelling west, anyone?

Regards ippy.

First the weather causes a run on halloumi, and now there's a lettuce shortage.

Soon there won't be anything left that I can eat.
