It is, as is filling animal drinking troughs and removing graffiti.

I doubt a hosepipe is necessary for removing graffiti.

I doubt a hosepipe is necessary for removing graffiti.
But a pressure washer frequently is.

I doubt a hosepipe is necessary for removing graffiti.
And yet it is an exemption, though only for public buildings

So that could include using it in a watering can with a rose, possibly.

Possibly I guess, though I would think it unlikely.

Supposed to be cooler today you wouldn't have thought so here in outer Essex, perhaps it is the sun shining on the righteous, now where did I put my halo.

I've three remote temperature gages out in the garden they're averaging out at 30c.

Much cooler here in Nottingham.

All thanks and praise be to North Atlantic weather fronts.

Unfortunately the mercury is predicted to rise again tomorrow.

Much cooler here in Nottingham.
... and not a million miles away it looks grey and cloudy enough for rain, though none is forecast.

Hovering around 24°-25°C (which is the thick end of my comfort zone) until Monday which is predicted to be 27°C though I'm not setting much store by anything that far ahead.

We're experiencing a heatwave at the moment. A bit too hot at just over 30c but I shouldn't really complain as last year's summer was really bad. Next week off work and it looks like the hot weather will continue then so I'll have to get the beers in.

Cooler and overcast in the South West with dark clouds but no actual rain.

Grey and overcast (and, needless to say, bone-dry) but pleasant. Always nice to see the Met Office revise their predicted temperatures downwards.

August is statistically the warmest month though not necessarily this year - it could be that July has seen the extremities of temperature; it's too soon to say.

In any case: I was in what passes for my garden last night thinking that there will come a point fairly soon when there's rain and cool breezes and a green lawn are back and autumn is unmistakably on the way ... any day you like. Seriously. I'm long overdue.

The last big July heatwave I remember (2006 - I had a newborn - absolutely horrendous) was followed by a cooler and wetter August even though the papers had been filled with headlines about how August would be even hotter.

That said, Accuweather had been predicting a break here around the 28th with rain for the following days, and that's now changed to more of the same. Not supposed to be so hot though. And the met office is forecasting thunderstorms here for Friday.

I'm seriously looking into rain dances. Try this:

I'm just off to find some horsehair.

I have seriously thought about contacting my shamanic friend for help, but as he lives up north somewhere he probably doesn't need to bother with rain dances.  >:(

The weather man said that we Essexionians should be going into the 33c's next week, blimey my poor old dog's black the wrong colour for that heat, I've been taking her out at around 7 when it's that bit cooler, next week I'll have to be emptying the watering can over her a couple of times during the day.

I'm putting off going to bed because the bedroom is so hot! I don't particularly like having the fan on in the bedroom because to be effective it has to blow on me (us) and I don't want it in my face, also the whirring sound it makes is not conducive to sleep. A permanent ceiling fan would be ideal, I'll think about that for next year. So I will be staying up until I start to fall asleep on the sofa, don't have to be up early tomorrow or rather today.

Friday's forecast is reasonable, still warm but not so much. Like you we have 30+ temperatures predicted for early next week.

It is hard on animals. When we had a dog and cats we put an old shallow children's paddling pool in the shade of a tree in the garden, they liked that.

Cool and cloudy here this morning. Nothing like the forecast. They've said rain later, but I'll believe it when I see it.

We have had heavy rain most of the afternoon, the rain gauge is quite full. It is much cooler, which is a relief.

Few spots. Rushed out to bring in the drying washing, rain stopped!

I deliberately left mine out on the basis that would make rain a certainty, but no.

Still, the school holidays are beginning...

Not a drop but the forecast for Bromley says it will rain during the night & will be breezy. Back to hot tomorrow.

Boasting again Littleroses! We're all jealous.
