....make the collecting holes bigger or fix the leak?

 ;)

I wish it were as easy as that Seb, the connection is via a pair of inch and a half tank connectors with a section of the same sized pipe running between the two buts, the guttering and down pipe is all brand new and as clean as a whistle I put it up myself and it has plenty of slope I'd say about an inch in twenty five feet, where a quarter of an inch in twenty feet should be more than enough, so no it's not the materials at fault.

There's a village about three miles away from here and friends of ours there were holding their breath for risk of flooding at the sheer amount of water there was in a recent downpour, but apart from the odd few large spots of rain from time to time we seem to be left out of this rainy weather and would like to have some of it just to check the plumbing of these rainwater goods but I don't know when it's going to happen?

It could be a plot? Who said that!?

Regards Seb, ippy.

Misty continuous rain today you could walk about 100 to 150 meters in it before getting wet.

We have little droplets of water falling from the sky today but not as much of it as I would like to see.

We have had some very heavy rain today, the rain gauge filled right up, I am so glad we don't live yards from a river as we did at our previous property. It is very windy too, but the sun is peeping through at the moment

Our Horticultural societies place at Hyde Hall Essex, has a display with examples of dry gardens and has notes saying we need examples of these gardens because here in Essex we have the same average rainfall as Jerusalem, that town in the Middle East.

I can remember thinking surly it can't be as dry as that here but when I read about the rainfall mentioned by lots of other members I'm beginning to wonder, it's still as dry as a bone here, we had some rain here overnight and a touch of more misting here this morning and now we're largely in full sun here at 1630.

We should certainly be planning to flood more of those Welsh valleys to assist us here with our water supplies and perhaps some of those Scottish valleys too, it'd be quiet a bonus if the authorities would do this to help England out.

How thoughtful of you.  ;D

We had a very windy night and a millennium's worth of rain.  However, on my morning walk I didn't see any damage or trees down.

Very windy, little damage and still no significant amount of the wet stuff, it's still seriously dry in this part of the U K, no kidding.

I have put the washing out so I can almost guarantee it will rain! ::)

Our next door neighbour called yesterday to tell us some of the roofing felt from our garden shed had come off in the storm. They could see it from their landing window, one cannot see it from the ground, the shed is at the side of our property. We will have to find someone to fix it, or at least our eldest girl will, she is in charge of our home, thank goodness.

Dry all day so far.

Me too, but I'll probably have a glass of wine with dinner.

It's pissing down outside though.

First rain for weeks. Temperature down several degrees from yesterday ... but the sun is due to return tomorrow.

I have decided to stay another week here in Aquitaine - all I have to look forward to on my return to the UK is two weeks solitary confinement while under house arrest.

Sunny today, but quite cool. There is a fresh breeze so I should get my washing dry.

Had some rain but not but filling quantities yet, no doubt there'll be plenty of the stuff when I no longer need to collect it.

Wet, blowing a gale. It can just clear up sharpish as I've got to go out for my flu jab.
