It was snowing here too earlier! Only lightly, and not settling, but it was certainly damn cold. Now making feeble attempts to brighten up.

Rain indeed:

So lay down your umbrellas
Strip off your plastic macs
You've never felt the rain my friend
Till you've felt it running down your back
So the next time you see rain, it ain't bad
Don't complain it rains for you
The next time you see L.A. rainclouds
Don't complain it rains for you and me

Torrential rain right now - just sitting watching it, with a whisky for company.

When is February going to end?
We've just had the nicest and warmest three days of the year here on West Coast of Scotland,  particularly Saturday.

Wednesday to Sunday, it's meant to pish down though.

Hot again, though not as much so as yesterday. We're in for the summer's second heatwave next week.

Another beautifully hot day. A very large stand of rosebay willowherb on Gaddesden Row, near Hemel Hempstead, this afternoon.

Well, here we are on Monday morning, the start of two days at least of mega-heat, if the Met Office is right. At the moment (7:20) the sky is more or less clear, bright sunshine, no breeze, warm but not yet hot. Here is another flower photo, of a Buddleja davidii or butterfly bush which arrived in my garden from who knows where. It's normally mauve or purple, but I've got a white-flowered form, which is fairy common.

Hope you folks in more southern parts are being careful in this hot weather - it is 29C here, which is bad enough, but it must be uncomfortable in those places where the temperature is 35C+

34 degrees. So far so good: kept curtains and windows closed, cleaned the kitchen from top to bottom, will open doors tonight to cool the house down. Its like a mini lockdown, though will be going out in a bit.

Not so bad here on the south coast - 29 degrees. There's been a fair bit of high cloud cover during the day which has helped, that and the slight breeze off the sea.

It was hottest in mid-afternoon. at about 13:00 I went outside. It wasn't too bad in the house, but when I stepped through the front door, I hit a wall of heat. Now, at 22:30, it's still hot, but not as bad as that. Apparently, 100F (38C) was reached somewhere in Suffolk, and tomorrow may top 40C (104F) in places. (I assume BBC News meant shade temperatures, though they didn't specifically say so.)

The purple  form is beautiful, but the pestilential mauve variety which has invaded everywhere, especially alongside railways, I really hate. Can't stand the smell, and it brings on my rhinitis. My sister used to have asthma attacks because of one in our childhood garden.

Already 33 here in Bristol, and about 26 in my flat.
Soaked a shirt in cold water and put it on to cool down when I came home yesterday. Something of a shock to the system but it seemed to help.

It's fairly uncomfortable here at present - according to the internet the temperature is 30C here in Bearsden, but the humidity is 70% (compared to 28C and 46% humidity 50 miles away in Edinburgh).

Here in Herts, IT'S RAINING! ;D  A great relief after the last two days. Tomorrow is going to be much cooler, cloudy, and wet. I took a vacuum bottle of semi-frozen apple juice to work. Delish!

Thank goodness the weather has returned to more or less the British normal for this time of year. I was hoping for snow when we had that dreadful heatwave.

It did get a little bit warm didn't it!

We've just had some rain here which was not in the forecast, but very welcome.

It is dry and sunny at present, but rain is predicted for the next few days, our garden could do with it.
