Hope all are well.

We haven't heard anymore from them, hopefully it hasn't got any worse where they are.

Well, when I got up this morning the road surfaces were wet. It had clearly rained during the night. The air was fresh and it felt very comfortable.

By mid morning it was clear that things had not changed. The temperature rose into the 30s and now a possibly uncomfortable night beckons.

I put that washing and within 15 minutes it started a light drizzle! It is cooler today and a moderate breeze.

Sunny and breezy here, had a lovely walk to the Church of the English Martyrs. It has a sort of copy of the Sistine chapel ceiling. A little incongruous in Worthing but hey ho:

Overcast and dull, but warm and still. Heard distant rumbles which might have been thunder earlier, when I was in the garden. Hope it was - I love a good thunderstorm!

There is no such thing as a good thunderstorm, imo. I was terrified of them as a child, I would crawl out from under the table when assured that the bangs I was hearing were mines being exploded on the beaches, not a storm. Even in my adulthood I am still phobic about thunderstorms, having been nearly struck by lightning when I was on holiday in my home island about 20 years ago.

I was nearly struck by lightning about 30 years ago, but I still love them. I was walking in torrential rain alongside some woodland when there was a blinding flash and a deafening crack at the same instant. The lightning must have hit one of the trees.
