Having been cloudy and coolish all day, we've now got a lovely, sunny, warm evening. Moderate breeze.

Friend's just taken this photo. It's a bit brighter where he is than here but it's about 15 miles away from me.

So far, so miserable but not quite weather warning worthy, though I know a couple of friends who have switched on their heating.

Warm and sunny here on the South coast, though the breeze is quite bracing.

It isn't quite so windy as it was earlier, but it is still very breezy. Fortunately we don't appear to have had any storm damage in our neighbourhood, thank goodness.

Pissing down, and likely to remain so for hours yet, which is good news for the garden - we haven't had significant rain for ages. I've had the oscillating sprinkler on a few times, but the natural stuff is better.

Pleasant day at moment, and might be like that for rest of day which is good news since we've had lots of significant rain with another downpour for a few hours overnight.

Thunder and lightning some of it very loud, bright and close, for half an hour or more around 3 am, but not much rain or wind.

I am currently in Jersey, where I arrived a couple of days ago.

My journey here from the Lot et Garonne was accompanied by cloudy - sometimes rainy - weather for almost the whole journey. Although there was a high point when - like a huge arch - a magnificent rainbow framed the road on which I was travelling (A83).

Summer was switched off on 31st August. Up to then it had been very dry and sunny with temperatures sometimes in the 30s but from 1st September onwards it has been - well - autumnal.

I was always terrified of thunderstorms as a kid in my home island of Guernsey, of which we had plenty. When I heard a bang I would hide under the table assuming it was another storm. When I was assured it wasn't, but a WW2 mine being exploded on one of the beaches, I was relieved!

It is quite breezy with a bit of drizzle here in North Wales today.
