A few years ago  I read (talking book) an excellent biography about James Clerk-Maxwell. What an amazing mind he had.

Jolly good. I'll look out for those. You've already prompted me to start reading a crisp, blue paperback which has been lurking on my shelves for a little while: The Man Who Changed Everything, by Basil Mahon.

I had that as an audio book not too long ago. Un-put-down-able. what a genius.
