Magna Carta style statement, design your own

This is sort of related to my post today on whether we should do God or not.

Part of the report said.....

Creating a grassroots "Magna Carta" style statement of values for public life, rather than a government-led approach to defining "British values"

I think a lot of people do agree our values on the whole are based around the values of Christianity on many matters.

I guess something could be pulled together on the golden rule that most of us could agree on.

Anyone want to have a go ?

I'm thinking, most of my thoughts  revolve around the golden rule and live and let live.

I wonder how hard it would be to write a set of statements that would please everyone?

I shall pop back later, to this thread if I can find time to work one out.

In the meantime...feel free..... To post your own thoughts.

It may not be totally straight forward, for example Sunday's and the idea that having a day when the whole family has a day off together, might be seen as a British family value. At one time I would have listed that as a British value.

We all know where that one would go.......  :(

I wonder how difficult that statement would be to write so that most people agreed?
