By all accounts that woman was no saint at all.  Many years ago I met someone who had worked with her and they were not impressed by her treatment of the poor unfortunates under her harsh regime. Painkillers were apparently withheld as MT believed suffering was good for the soul!

I think it is very beautiful for the poor to accept their lot, to share it with the passion of Christ. I think the world is being much helped by the suffering of the poor people.
