Would think 'breaking a security cordon' is the more relevant point rather than the shouting - especially in the current climate.

A bit OTT! :o
In view of the various things he admitted to, why is it OTT?

During an appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court, the former Lib-Dem political activist admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by violating a security cordon, shouting and failing to desist, attempting to approach Mr Cameron and causing fear and alarm.
Are your, or your friends'/relatives', garages, lofts or sheds full of unused DIY gear, sewing/knitting machines or fabric and haberdashery stuff?

Dear Sane,

My family in Glasgow are of the opinion (bearing in mind the majority of my family live in Dunfermline) that Fife is for Scottish people that secretly want to be English, and Edinburgh is for the ones that have the accent to pull it off...

Getting back to the original post, I think the headline's grossly misleading. That he shouted and what he shouted aren't what he was convicted of, he was convicted of deliberately bypassing a security cordon and threatening behaviour - with that charge, the sentence seems appropriate.

It's not as though the Prime Minister - and other ministers - don't appear in public places where this sort of protest can be made.
