God help us when it comes to the you and I, and GOD discussions on the forum.
Strange how people see only two in a discussion about God and ignore the third person who is the relevant one of the conversation.
The discussion by the other parties above refer to God as 'it' a lot but when speaking about faith do not acknowledge the God being at the centre of the conversation.

The argument passes backwards and forwards, too and fro and whatever way you want to explain or express it's course.
But the person at the centre God is not acknowledge as being a person.

I see how people also become about grammar, English language and even spelling errors. Not about the topic but about personal innuendo and insult.  It becomes personal attack and the true centre of debate disappears.

So why is it, people do not ask for an explanation rather than assume and rush in where angels fear to tread?

Do atheists and agnostics ever know enough or learn enough about the subject of God before they get involved in discussions about him?

I certainly believe God is a person, Leonard.  Part of the Trinity, God the Father.  Before anyone jumps in, I'm not saying God is a ''man'' because of the traditional use of the word ''Father''; He is a spirit but He is definitely a person, imo.

Do you mean a person like us, who has to go to the loo, cut his toe-nails and hair, etc. If not, what do you mean by person?

Oh Sass you never fail to amuse when you accuse atheists and agnostics of not knowing about the subject of the deity! ;D ;D ;D NO ONE knows anything about it in reality, as it is all guesswork and assumptions.

'Faith', floo, rather than guesses and assumptions.
Len, I told you that I believe God is a person but he is a spirit, not a flesh and blood human being.  He has a character and made us, people, in His image.  Jesus is his idea of himself as a human being.  These are the basic Christian beliefs.

I suppose it depends on what one defines a 'person' as, Len.  Are the characteristics you list above the the 'USP's of a person, or is there something far more complex?  Like Brownie, I'd refer to God as a person because, in my view, the underlying nature of 'person' is the spiritual nature of humanity.
Are your, or your friends'/relatives', garages, lofts or sheds full of unused DIY gear, sewing/knitting machines or fabric and haberdashery stuff?

Faith is still based on guesswork and assumptions.

Faith = Guesswork, assumptions and gullibility.

It is the excuse people give themselves to believe something for which they have no evidence.

When you have evidence, you do not need faith!
I see gullible people, everywhere!

Faith is not a pathway to truth.

You can see this easily as people use faith to come to mutually exclusive beliefs about truth.

I see gullible people, everywhere!

 :)

Reminds me of that song

If God had a name, what would it be?
And would you call it to His face?
If you were faced with Him in all His glory
What would you ask if you had just one question?

And yeah, yeah God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make His way home?

If God had a face, what would it look like?
And would you want to see?
If seeing meant that you would have to believe
In things like heaven and in Jesus and the saints and all the prophets?

And yeah, yeah God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make His way home?

He's trying to make His way home
Back up to Heaven all alone
Nobody calling on the phone
Except for the pope maybe in Rome

And yeah, yeah God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

What if God was one of us
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make His way home?

Just trying to make His way home
Like a holy rolling stone
Back up to Heaven all alone
Just trying to make His way home
Nobody calling on the phone
Except for the pope maybe in Rome

It's a pity that we don't know anything about the cause of the universe yet, but that does give us the chance to invent all sorts of amusing stories about it.  :)

Which therefore makes your God human, hence the anthropomorphism of God and gods. And explains where Gods have come from; the mind of man.

I thought in the earlier post to Leonard, you removed his posts because of the area it was in.
When you said to my earlier thread it was not in the area this thread was in so could not remove the reported posts.
You refused to move it to the area that would stop them posting such things.
Now you have moved a thread not requested to be removed from an area they could not do such things.,

WHO DO WE REPORT THE MODERATOR TO FOR PREJUDCIAL ACTIONS AGAINST A CHRISTIAN MEMBER.
You refused to move my thread to the other area., Now you remove my thread from that area to this.
Sorry but I want it putting back and I want to make a complaint against you as a moderator being biased.

The thread IS NOT ABOUT GRAMMAR AND AS SUCH THE RULES ABOUT DERAILING THREADS NEED TO IMPLEMENTED.

Moaning about grammar etc is an intusive post and no relation to the on-going discussion.
Or are those rules only for the Christians and atheists exempt.

May Almighty God, close this forum if someone does not do something about the moderators abusing their powers and being prejudice towards Christians.,..To Gods Glory and in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen,.

That was a separate threat that I refused to move TO the FSA because some of the replies weren't suited to there and I wasn't prepared to junk posts made in good faith by other members. I have since taken exactly the same approach in the case of another thread (He Is Risen) You should have started your thread in FSA in the first place.

This thread was moved FROM the FSA because it was outwith the ethos of that Board for the reasons I gave in the Mod Post when I moved it. I suggest you read the 'About this Board' sticky on FSA.

Feel free to contact Jakswan.

Yes, I've always thought the moderators give the Christians an easy ride too.

In other news, God hasn't closed the forum. That means he must not exist.
