I thought you were resigning from the forum for a minute, then again, your posts can be really funny.

I am doing all sorts of things like writing to Mr Cameron asking if you were a baker would you bake me a cake saying   --Those who want to remain are NUTS do you think he would.

He might, after all he is the one who was at the forefront of offering us choices, of things he doesn't appear to think, is our best course of action  :-\

Like an independant Scotland and now leaving the EU.

So he might well bake you such a cake  ???

He seems to set us up to vote for things that he reckons are bad for us  :-\

Strange man, Mr Cameron. I'm wondering what he'll do next  :-\

Who knows what he will do next but if he refused to bake the cake under his laws we could take him to court. And great news for the buses.

The key bit really is 'Unlike cinema advertising regulators, Transport for London does not have any rules against religious advertising.' So it isn't the same people making the decision. If it was and they allowed one but not the other then it would be fair criticism but since it isn't then its not a case of one religion being favoured aver another.

Why good news TW?  Because it shows that religious advertising is allowed on 'buses, therefore Christians can get in on the act next?  I can't think of any other reason why you would consider it good news.

I didn't know TW was into 'signs of the end times', no doubt he'll tell us when he comes back.  He probably thinks I am thick because so often I don't 'get' what he is saying, not even quite sure if he is a Christian believer, sometimes I think he is speaking ironically  :D.  No offence TW!

End Times/Rapture was a subject that came up quite a lot on forums years ago and there was a very popular book, or series of books, called ''Left Behind'', but it is rarely, if ever, mentioned now.  Funny how these things come into fashion and then fade.

I wonder if Christians would want their faith advertised on London buses, I'd find it rather embarrassing but that's me.  I can't imagine it would achieve anything.

TW has completely lost it! But then anyone with his fascination for  eternal torture for those who don't see it in his highly unpleasant way, would go over the top eventually!

I'm not sure I always get what he means either, but I think he likes being cryptic  ;)

TW enjoys keeping people guessing  ;D

I don't suppose it would hurt to have " Jesus loves you" emblazoned on a bus  ;D

Or love your neighbour as yourself.

It's not as invasive as in the cinema.

The papers seem to be comparing apples and pears, not sure they are comparable. ( religious advertising on buses to the Lord's Prayer in the cinema)

I object to one, but not the other.

The trouble is if you allow one to do it in the cinema, then they will all be able to do it.

I'd rather not bother.

The buses I don't have an issue with, I don't care what's on a bus because I don't have to take any notice.

Sat in a darkened cinema, there isn't any distractions or chance of ignoring it.

I don't want Mormons, Catholics, Scientology forced on me in the cinema.

Buses are different.

Religious slogans of any sort should be banned, in public places, imo.

No offence taken TW, I haven't read them, not my thing.  Well now we both admit I haven't a clue.  You are very cryptic in your comments! :D

Rose, I don't read 'bus adverts either but have a vague recollection, many years ago in town, seeing advertisements for musicals on 'buses, over and over again, including where the musical was being shown, eg Shaftesbury Theatre.  So I took that on board at the time (& I don't like musical theatre).

Catholics are the last people who would advertise on buses.  We are quiet and private when it comes to faith - except maybe the charismatics, if they are still going.  Something else that was very fashionable at one time, especially following the Toronto Blessing;  it found its way into Catholicism and really took off.

The Alpha course was advertised on London buses a few years ago, and apparently there was a rise in numbers attending during that period.

Why this particular category, Floo?

. . . though strangely, the beta course never seemed to take off.

Why this particular category, Floo?

Because they are so divisive, that should go for political slogans too.
