Dear Sriram,
Watched it ages ago, it was a real eye opener, it really hit home to me that nature is best left alone, it has being doing what it does best for millions of years, I suppose you could say evolution in action, if we hadn't killed of all the wolves then nature would have gone along doing what it does best, keeping everything in balance.
You would think that nature and evolution has some kind of purpose, but you can't say that, can you, well can you!!

Hi Gonnagle,
Yes....its fascinating how closely connected all aspects of the world are. Nature is extraordinary. And that itself is my reason for believing that there is some form of Intelligence or Consciousness coordinating the evolution and development of all life forms.
The interconnectedness itself is enough evidence that there is some form of connecting link. Take the simple case of the Self Medication of animals that I have written about sometime back. Self medication and choosing the correct herb or clay... would be impossible by chance.
When we talk of a purpose, it need not be something that we are able to understand or logically connect with our lives. It need not be logical. It may be quite beyond us....but the unseen Intelligence behind the interconnectedness is obvious ..to me at least.
And of course the development of such creatures as humans is itself, to me, sufficient evidence of a direction.
We should also not become bipolar every time we encounter such remarkable features of evolution and Nature at work. We cannot immediately eliminate from our radar all our spiritual aspects, our own mental characteristics, mystical experiences etc. They don't just go away.
I agree that we may not be able to immediately integrate all aspects of life together neatly and we may find some aspects quite overwhelming. But we should keep all the pieces of the jigsaw on the table never the less, without throwing any of the pieces away as irrelevant. Someone sometime will be able to see the connection and be able to put them together, at least to some extent.
Otherwise we will continue this battle between Nature and Spirituality endlessly....as though they are two different worlds. When in fact they need not be.
Cheers.
Sriram
