It is disgusting that people of NI don't have the same rights, where abortion is concerned, as those of us in Wales, Scotland and England! >:(

In most respects, they do.  They are not part of the UK, have a separate parliament and it is not up to us to impose our legislation on them, however much we may feel they are wrong.  It's down to the Northern Irish people to campaign for change and vote for MPs who stand for the same principles - just as we did.  I don't know what the percentages of people for and against abortion are in NI.

They are not part of the UK,

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Does Magna Carta mean nothing to you? Did she die in vain?

Yes you're right.  I've heard people say they are not but i think the confusion arose as it used to be said, "Great Britain and Northern Ireland"; people from NI were sometimes happy to be described as "British" while others insisted on being "Irish".  I remember one person saying to me they had a choice to be British or Irish!  Oh well, I was confused too.
They have the Assembly and presumably it is from there that their abortion laws come.
It's a far, far more 'religious' society generally than we are here.

Most opinion polls in NI are in favour of relaxing the abortion laws - but the DUP which is part of the NI executive will not allow such a measure - and with the convoluted structure of the Assembly, their co-operation is essential if legislation - ANY legislation - is passed.
