I agree with a lot of this, but then I wonder to myself about this little corner of the net, and the amount of time it takes to 'police' it, handing out sanctions for crossing the communal sense of offence. The crucial aspect is you can mock any idea, but not the person. That, however, though is not such a clear line as it might seem.

If anyone espouses a silly idea whatever that idea my be in my book they deserve anything within the law they get in return.

If anyone doesn't like derision as a kind of critique they're free to keep their ideas to themselves.

If you wish to tiptoe around the religious making every effort to spare their feelings N S, that's OK by me, just don't ask me to do so.
